bduffy wrote:Hey TC, all I can say is that I'm just totally in love with this thing, but I haven't had as much time to really explore it, as a bunch of cool stuff has been released lately. I have a couple questions about ABM, but I should probably RTFM first (is there a manual?).

hey bduffy..thanks!..yes.there is a manual in the download of the full version. ( not the demo) It should be right next to the dll :-) The interface looks kinda simple, but there is so much to it, it might take you a while. To be honest, it took me a while to interpret Boris's designs, and they may be some need of clarification. Let us know.

Actually, I'm using the demo, that explains why I couldn't find it. Guess I should just part with the $35, eh? Here's what I couldn't figure out:
  1. The first couple of patches have held notes; how do you turn "hold" off?
  2. What do the different coloured notes mean in the Piano Roll? How do you make muted or skipped notes?
OK, that was three questions...

If you go into the sequencer screen, you can turn Hold on and off by the dialog that says Hold :-)

To skip and mute notes, you can bring its volume level to zero. I did not notice any colored notes :-)

In a hurry..my wife is calling :-)

:dog: Thanks, I was looking all over for anything that said "Hold", just couldn't see it.

It might be my choice of words. I mean these guys:

Some are yellow, some are red. What does it mean?

tried the demo, sounds very good, and tweaking it is a charm.

Just to be nosey, any chance to have a sequencer randomize button? perhaps is still there and could find it.

anyway, looks a very good deal

Nothing really..its purely cosmetic as far as I can see :-)

Thanks for the clarification!

There is a random mode when you turn on the ARP!! but not for the actual grid sequencer. I also noticed that there is MIDI out from the VST..the MIDI out allows you to use the ARP to control other VST's. We could look into allowing the Sequencer to have MIDI out, but we need to have a conferance on our dev forum about that. Would that be useful?

Thanks Tim. I was expecially referring to a random fill function for the sequencer, a sort of button that generates random notes in the grid. Anyway, just got it :)

BUT.. I need correction! I just got an answer from Boris about this, and it appears there is a method to the madness :-)

Probably the answer is 'double click':
yellow - gate on,
red - gate off.

The AMB ElectraBass Rack that was included in a recent issue of CM mag peaked my curiosity and interest in the big daddy, AMB Electrabass. I just downed it last night and it is too cool! I've been playing around with this synth for a bit and I think it's one of the coolest I've seen and heard in a dogs age! The GUI is breathtakingly beautiful and very intuitive - excellent help system too. The included presets are very tasty and inspirational. The sound is positively killer. I love the OScope and the drop down arp. I will definitely get this synth soon!

What type of backup is available for the purchaser of AMB Electrabass? Say I do something stupid (I'm famous for that!) and loose the plug completely. I really like the way companies line FL/Imageline and Audio Damage store the plug in perpetuity for their customer.

Tim, do you have any plans on creating additional banks for the AMBEB in the near future?

I must be dense but I can't seem to get my head around the arp/sequencer.

Hi Bill

Thanks for the kudo's! We appreciate it.
Backup? It is simply a link, and it's a fairly small download, so no need for a CD backup disc! We are planning an update soon as well.
