Looking for a good hardware companion for LiveSlice

Well, one of my favorite composing and performance tools is LiveSlice but I'm getting a bit frustrated with the limited control of "mousing" around to change parameters. To really make the most of the software as a performance tool, I'm looking to hook up a hardware controller.

Any suggestions what will make a good unit considering the type of functionality that LiveSlice offers?

Would a Korg Pad Kontrol be along the right lines? Pads could trigger slices and the XY pad would make a nice way to adjust multiple parameters.. I would ideally like some way to jump around the selected parameters but don't know if the Korg software lets you do this.
