I'm thinking of recording myself saying French words or sentences, or short fragments, and make this into a sample bundle for anyone to use on their tracks and/or in their samplers.

Maybe this is a stupid idea, maybe not. I know it's pretty vague but if you guys think you might have a use for something like this, let me know. I'd make it available for free of course.

A few of the things that need to be worked out: what words/what sentences or fragments? For what kind of mood? On what tone of voice? (whispering, neutral, languid, angry, laughing, etc.) At what BPMs (even if it's not rapping I have in mind)?

If you have any suggestion (even things like: go make music instead!), I'm happy to hear them.

I can't promise I'll carry this through but if there's enough enthusiasm around this I'll let myself be persuaded...

Hi,

Go make music inst........ erf just joking .... :hihi:

I would be interested, Vim.
Vague or obscure poetry (roughly translated so people could tastefully apply to their works and maybe keep it in context)
Counting? One liners translated from hip hop, but done dryly and monotone? Read the introductions in the manuals to some of your favorite vsti's, that way words like "synthesizer" or "drum machine" are heard and used?
You could also speak all of these in English (the translation) with a sultry French accent.
Invite some of your friends/girlfriends to participate so it not just your own voice?
Just some suggestions.

Or we could collab and I could do it too.. speaking all other languages other than English very badly. Badly spoken Japanese sounds like it could be a hit.

readings from newspaper articles regarding murders, rapes.
threatening behaviour.
fight scenes.

Oh oui je t'aime
- Moi non plus
- Oh mon amour
Tu es la vague, moi l'île nue
Tu vas, tu vas et tu viens
Entre mes reins
Tu vas et tu viens
Entre mes reins
Et je te rejoins

This is a international forum... a project that can supply all sort of bits of spoken languages would be very cool. Cooler if it had a by-request function, too! Hmm...
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Hey, I thought this would gradually be buried forever in the depths of the forum. I'm glad to see some of you are interested.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Let's start an Official Requests thread then!

I'm thinking I might use a few lines from potes like Rimbaud and Baudelaire, perhaps. I need to check the copyright implications though, we need sth that can be used freely.

Lotuzia, Mambo Zombie, if you want to jump on this boat... you're more than welcome.

Jason, great ideas too. French spoken with a US/UK accent can be great.

Mispronounced Japanese too, that's a f**king great idea. Anyone speaks Japanese here?

Let's get this thing started.

Chotto... boku no kanojo wa nihonjin desu ne. Maybe I can convince her to say some things well. I can provide poorly-executed Japanese. Who wants some Japanese?
