...I might be getting my hands on one of these babies in the next week or so...I heard a lot of good things about it and listened to the presets on synthmania.
I dont need a synth really production-wise but I just wanted to have a hardware synth to fiddle with and this sounds like just the ticket in terms of having some cool sound-design options, not to mention its a cool controller so I might have a reason to sell my M-Audio Oxygen 61..
...just thought it would be nice to get some comments from some users here if you happen to have one...

i like mine 
perhaps not the most indepth synth but capable of a wide variety of sounds, nice bass, nice leads and pads. i like the delay too, throwing the guitar or theremin throughthe vocoder is fun too

I concur with Vurt. It's a lot of fun for the price they go for. I love using the step sequenced modulators on all sorts of stuff.

the ms2000 is mucho deep, yer crazy vurt. with that said, don't cheap out and get the micrkorg, the extra 50-75$'s is 100x worth it.
but yeah man, get one. they're a steal and you won't find anything like it in it's price range that is anywhere nearly as good. the jp8080 costs twice as much and i sold mine to get a second ms2k rack (not only can you link the polyphony but the midi virtual patches have many more source options than those already available from the front panel).
not to mention it's designed how a synth should be designed. immediately accessible.. you barely fudge with the page editing except for system/save/etc and it's really quick to flip through everything. while in edit mode, move a knob and you can then select different params related to that section.
soundwise, it can go all over the place. it has a real strength with virtual analogue, but in no way is it limited to that.
oh.. and fyi. the ms2000 also has a DW8000 (very slimmed down / an option of OSC1) inside of it http://hem.passagen.se/tkolb/art/synth/dw8000_e.htm
you can do all kinds of things with it including applying patches to the waveform type selection or sequence them out in the modseq, etc.
when you combine the arppegiator and the modseq you can have a fully programmable 16 step sequencer (in divisions of 1/4, 1/8, etc.).
or you can use that to create custom arppegiator patterns. alot of people mistakenly think that it doesnt have a fully programmable arppegiator, but it does. you can even set individual step lengths and apply shuffle, etc. the mod seq is a great tool.
