It seems that the high frequency attenuation is now gone. Is it the HIIR dsp code that cured it? Damn I love how EVEN BETTER my Sonalksis plugins sound with this oversampler. The releases or the attack sound so much smoother. Can it be that I imagine? It can't be! Regards

Yep, it's HIIR. My own filter was crappunkrockdude wrote:It seems that the high frequency attenuation is now gone. Is it the HIIR dsp code that cured it? Oh wow, this is so great.
I didn't read the whole thread, so I hope I'm not repeating this:
The wrapper seems to confuse cubase 4's preset system. The wrapped plugin seems to be a totally different one for cubase and so cubase won't share their presets.
This is very nasty when the plugin itself has no preset load/save function. I found no way to get a setting from the normal plugin to the wrapped one. Even copying the preset file in "application data/vst3 presets" didn't make cubase show it in it's preset manager. Any way to work around this?

so is it sane to use it with an eq or dynamics?

No way I can think of, although this does confirm that Steinberg isn't even following it's own specs :rollbleebsen wrote:Oh wow, this is so great.![]()

At least THAT's no surpriseChris Walton wrote:No way I can think of, although this does confirm that Steinberg isn't even following it's own specs :roll![]()
Maybe there's a way to make the wrapper totally transparent in a way, that it *replaces* the wrapped plugin from the hosts point of view?
This way it'd be a breeze to oversample a certain VSTi in ALL existing projects without touching the projects themselves.

Hmm...
Maybe, when the oversampler doesn't detect that it has an .os.dll postfix, it looks for a plugin with the .original.dll postfix or something ...
that's very ugly and I don't know if I really want to do that.
I really didn't think Cubase would be that bitchy about it. I don't have it myself so I can't test.

OR it might even look in a different directory than VSTPLUGINS... say c:\uglyhack ?Chris Walton wrote:Hmm...

I'm not gonna whine but I think the ability to globally and transparently oversample one VST-plugin in all old and future projects could be usable to non-cubase-users too.Chris Walton wrote: ...that's very ugly and I don't know if I really want to do that.
(at least i suspect that in any other host you'd still have to save preset, replace plugin with *.os one, load preset for every single instance you wanna oversample)

Aah, yes, I haven't implemented the extra support code needed for old-style accumulated processing yet. Will release an update very soon that fixes this. Does htis happen with all plugins or only some specific plugs?tekalo wrote:Hi Chris,

ok, that means the host doesn't support replacing processing mode.
It'll be fixed in the next update, hopefully monday
