2 questions:

1 - I am not a DJ per se, but an enthusiast, and definately a "gadget" guy ... Is this worth having?

2 - Does it work with Traktor?

3 - Will it work as a control surface for other DAW's (reason/cubase/etc?)Thanks!

yyyyeaahhh, i love torq so much. total fanboy over here.

if you're not a full on dj yet it's still great cause it has options to sync the tracks similar to Ableton(but a simpler grid system). you can do these crazy remixes on the fly with the looping features and all the effects. and if you want to hone your dj skill beyond that you can do that too cause it's meant to satisfy normal djs too who dont sync the tracks do lots of looping. there's something for everyone in torq.

to answer your questions, i'm wondering which version of torq you are considering buying? there's the conectiv which is meant for external control of vinyl and cd-j and then the xponent. i have both so i can help answer your questions. i assume you are referring to xponent since you're asking if it can work as a control surface to other daws. which it can.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm only now seeing the various versions.

Sadly, no, I didn't mean the xponent ... I mean the digital DJ system

ok well i highly recommend you check out some of the videos on this site, and also the forum is good too;
http://torq-dj.com/
but feel free to ask any questions on this kvr thread too and i'll be happy to help you out.

i should add that there are some bugs in the xponent product which you can find more about on that forum. mine is pretty reliable so far with a few niggles.

thanks again ... I just looked at the hercules digital DJ turntable controller -- only about $100 more, for what it seems is a TON more features .. ?

$100 more than which product? what kind of features are you talking about? i dont know much about the hercules thing, i haven't read many positive responses about it though. curious what it's all about.

if you're just looking for a controller for programs other than torq i'm sure there's lots of good deals out there, but the biggest competitor the xponent is the vestex digital dj unit

thanks ill check it out.

Would you recommend the digital dj controller that I'm talking about? Best buy has it for $80 right now, which just seems like a steal!
