AllenPOPO: Yep, this'll work fine on Tiger. If I were you I'd stick with Tiger as long as possible. Leopard is super buggy for me, and I think upgrading was a big mistake. (Stick with Tiger at least until they sort all the problems out.)

well, too late now i couldnt wait....im on the 10.5.1 update, and the only thing that has crashed so far is firefox one time....

its been a much better experience than vista, whatever thats worth...

but ive only had leo on here for 2 days so....

i wonder if OS X will give better performance than linux for me with XT1.4 ...perhaps i'll try it out while i wait for Jorgen to finish up :D

also GameGod: when you say super buggy what do you mean? I know there were some issues with time machine , but i dont have the luxury of another hard drive to use that...just curious so i know what to look out for..of course i'll consult my google as well. hopefully im not too OT here :)

i'll post what i can about XT 1.4 a little later
i am me and i am free...k thx bai

Amazing. Add a zero-latency audio/midi bridge for handling on Mac hosts like Logic or GarageBand and I will be in heaven.

Thanks for the heads-up!

I've followed the instructions in the original post (including moving the wineasio.dll.so file), but think I must be missing some steps...because eXT loads, but without an ASIO driver to set it to. The other apps I tried had the same problem.

So, after searching the net a bit, I went to Audio MIDI system settings for OSX and made an "aggregate machine", then set the "aggregate machine" as the interface in the Jackpilot preferences. Started Jackpilot, started eXT.

Still didn't work (i.e. no asio driver to select in eXT). Any ideas?

XT2 is now native osx supported for intel macs ;)

D-Fusion: Cool...does that OSX eXT work with windows VSTs?

Post

Wish XT2 OS X were able to make the WINE layer and host Win32 VSTs by itself.

yep good timing eh? but there could be times when this method is useful just as it is in Linux ;)

a LOT of good freebies are still not available as UB AFAIK

but native is SWEET! hope it leads to some more sales for Jorgen and his hard work pays off :)

So if you've darwined your OSX, the OSX version of eXT will run windows VSTs? Is that the go?

Imagine eXT running as AU plugin, hosting Windows VST insturments and effects using a WINE layer.

I am not sure if you can use Windows Vst's in a Mac so i guess it is Mac vst's only :D

I don't have a mac so i can't test it.

Okay, I'm imagining it. :) Is there anything to do to get this happening?

Yeah, I think you might be right (eXT OSX just crashed when I tried to open a windows VST in it). Oh well.

Back to emulationland...anyone got any advice on that query of mine about setting up jackpilot and wineasio correctly?

Definitely. Several options, eXT under WINE and some kind of zero-latency audio/midi bridge or eXT OS X running his own WINE layer to host Windows VSTs.

eXT OS X running his own WINE layer to host Windows VSTs.
Ah, interesting...so how do you get this happening?

R&D.

Heh, okay. I wondered at that when I saw your sig. :)

P.S. To GameGod and anyone else who's got it working: HELP! (please)
