As far as I'm concerned this version sounds already very very pro. More pro than a bunch of other paythroughyournoseware VSTi's.

and yea, thanks for removing the keyboard :). It was just an annoyance.

A mild annoyance which I'd like to mention though is the precision, or rather imprecision of the controls. They're a bit to sensitive and I find "On screen" tweaking more usable than by knobs. As far as the GUI goes - of course, "one screen to rule them all" approach would be da shit ;-), but I don't care as the sound is what matters most.

Anyway, many thanks! it sounds splendid and sits perfectly in a mix. yay!

Cheers!

I have a wish for the pro version:
Please integrate a own presetmanager with the possibility to create sound categories (strings, bass, leads etc).

Fixed.

Oops. Watch out, the grammar police are in the area :hihi:

I couldn't find out through the Search KVR function whether the GUI works with Tracktion 2 now or not. Still jumpy or not?

My home controller keyboard is an Ensoniq VFX-SD and I had an ESQ-1 before that, so I'm familiar with Ensoniq sound; transwaves and all that. I'd like to give this thing another go.

The readme doesn't mention this problem...

- GUI changes:
- New design, keyboard removed.
- New sound compare function in the WRITE dialog.
- Parameters on the LCD and knobs can now both be used in
the same way (double clicking, mouse dragging).
- The sound selection popup menu can now also be opened by
right-clicking the sound program name.
- Saturation (SAT) parameter moved from emulation page to DCA4.
- Faster popup menus (noticable on slow computers).

Perhaps just try. It's a great plugin with a beautiful sound.

well, considering I didn't fix any grammar, but instead replaced "even" with "especially", changing the meaning...

It was a joke... You know... Vintage Boom Box... Nice-n-80s...

I give up. haha.

It works with Tracktion 3, I suspect it would work with T2 as well...

Hi,
I tested SQ8L with the demo of Tracktion 2.1.0.11 and couldn't find any problems. But I didn't actually WORK with Tracktion, so there might be bugs I didn't encounter. Just try it and let me know if there's anything wrong.

About the keyboard:
It was there mainly for testing/debugging and I didn't honestly think anybody would miss it (sorry)! Someday it might be back though for editing keyboard splits and layers.

Greetings,
Sigi

Yes! I tried it yesterday; the jumping is gone. I can finally use this very nice VST. Thanks! :)

Wow. Just got a chance to play with this some more last night. I hadn't really used it since it didn't work well with Tracktion (works fine, now).
I've gotta say, this is a really nice piece of work. I used to have an ESQ, and this pretty much nails it!

In fact, in certain situations, it's better than the hardware. There were always certain patches I had a hard time getting clean enough, and now you've given me the ability to turn off the saturation that was always present in the original. Those patches are PERFECT now!

Great job. I sense a donation coming your way soon. :)

You could allso get the original ESQ1/SQ80 sound clean.
It was just a matter of turning down the oscillator volume on the AMP page before it reached the filter. That way you didn't overload the filter.
The problem was that all factory sounds and pretty much all third party sounds i tried with the ESQ1/SQ80 was way too loud on the OSC volume and therefore it allways sounded distorted.
If you keep the oscillator volume down to around 48 on ESQ1/SQ80 they sound lovely undistorted !
