I was wondering if I bought this compressor (http://www.zzounds.com/item--BEHMDX1600), if I would still be able to use phantom power? Like this!

Kel Audio HM-1 mic
MDX1600
Mbox 2 - with phantom power on

Would this work?

Don't know the MDX1600, but unless the compressor has a mic preamp, it can be used at line level only.

This means that the output of the mic will be too low to drive the compressor, you should use the insert points of your mixer instead (don't know if Mbox2 has these?).

If you really want to use your compressor and your mixer doesn't have inserts, there's a way around this with one of those cheap Behringer or ART preamps with only 1 mic input and phantom power.

Mic -> Preamp with phantom power -> compressor -> Mbox2.
