I've posted this in the instruments section but in hindsight, it was probably more appropriate to post it here.

Is it possible to use a modulator (such as an LFO or envelope) to move through a sample's timeline. e.g. sine wave LFO to move through a sample forwards and backwards or weirdness with a step modulator, random or multi-LFO?

Unfortunately it's not possible. At least I'm pretty sure of that.

...load a sample in sampler mode, click on the mod tab in the source module and add an lfo. choose loop length as the mod destination. loop your sample with a mode that plays the sample backwards and forwards. that's the best I can suggest - Idon't know if this is what you're looking for. maybe you want to set up midi controllers to both the lfo rate and the modulation amount or to either one of them. depending on what you use a heavy delay might be a good fx to add...

It's not what I'm looking for but that's a very creative idea, thanks! :D

I think the only synth/sampler that can do this then is Krishna.

I'm pretty sure you could write a script to do this. I've just started learning the KSP, but I would be shocked if you couldn't do this with a script.

That being said, with a bit of creativity you may even be able to pull it off without a script. I haven't thought about it yet though. Sorry I can't help more.

...hm, controlling the loop start and loop length via midi while the sample is being looped back and forth is also pretty wicked - very nice for pads and textures. add loads of reverb and delay :tu:...

Thanks for the tips, guys!

Much appreciated!! :D
