I was just looking at the download section of the Sampletank site. Although I do have the version that came with Tracktion 2/3, there are a couple of instruments that I remember being sort of cool.

Anyways, it seems that STFree has been replaced with a ten day demo. Is the free version no longer around?

Wow..that's so cheap of them to remove it.

I didn't say it was cheap of them, or even bad of them. I was just curious. Sorry, maybe I'm misunderstanding the sarcasm or something?

No kidding. I guess there's something hidden that I'm not seeing.

It's the quiet hour; plenty of time for explaining the inexplicable.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

ST2Free and ST2LE (which ESoundz used to bundle with Expansion Tanks) apparently have both been discontinued. Part of it, I imagine, is because of the UB and Vista compatibility hassles.

I went looking today because of another thread, I remembered that ST2Free had a nice piano available as a free download. As I have the full ST2XL it wasn't an issue for me.

Oh well. I have Kontakt2/3, along with quite a few sampler type instruments bundled with my hosts, plus Wusikstation and others, so I'll be fine without it. I was just curious since I had went to get it and it wasn't there. So you may be right about the discontinuing of it.

ST2.5 is out now, so they may have possibly taken it down because they are preparing a FREE version of that?

Pure speculation though...

i always thoght they were a little crazy just to give away the piano. the rest of the free sounds (+ the ones on the disk we got for asking nicely a while back) and the multi channel made them certifiable
