I got this a little over 6 months ago. I'm on a Mac, using OSX 10.4.11.

I've been having loads of trouble with it recently... The audio that comes out of it seems to keep on going very odd... REALLY REALLY crackly and digitally buggered sounding... I don't know what the matter is... But something really isn't right and I'm definite it didn't used to do this before (or not as much anyhow)...

I've tried going onto the Mackie forums all of last week and it keeps saying it's down for maintenance... It's driving me nuts... I can hardly listen to music or making music at all now!

Has anyone else got this problem? Is it something to do with the firewire (I heard that Apple have been having problems with the firewire drivers)... Please help!

Hi, I bought this audio card back in may... bought into tracktion and this... I am very upset. nothing but poor quality products seem to come from mackie nowadays. I will be picking up a new card in 2008. sorry that is not much help.

I've heard its to do with the drivers... Somethings up with Apple's firewire drivers or something like that... I spend £400 on this card and most of the time its been working 99% great. But, and I don't know if it's related, but since I seemed to of downloaded the latest Mac OSX version (10.4.11) things have been really odd.

Please, someone enlighten me?

I've heard that buying Apple's Leopard would sort out my firewire audio drivers... Is this true?

This problem with my Mackie is DOING MY HEAD IN!

There seem to be known issues with FireWire in both Panther, Tiger and Leopard.
Since it was stable on your previous version of Mac OSX: can you revert to that?

So this problem has most probably got something to do with the Apple firewire drivers? And it still isn't fixed in the new one? Bugger...

On another note, when my sound goes really funny sounding, if I open up the software mixer for my soundcard and switch the sample rate to something different then switch it back, it seems to sort out the problem... Well, for the next hour anyways...

Quite annoying! Don't know if I should be having a go at Mackie or having a go at Apple!

Barking up at both trees won't do any harm ;-)
