Free Shortcircuit VST presets

Hi everyone,
I made some test VST presets for the now freeware Shortcircuit 1 sampler using my Chromatic Hits soundfont demo as the sample set. There are 14 presets and they all are different from the the 14 original sounds in the demo soundfont. This means that whit the presets you have 28 sounds and you can create your own presets to have more sounds.
To use them, copy the presets in the same folder as the soundfont (or anywhere on your hard drive). The caveat is that to locate the soundfont, the VST presets store the absolute path info and when you load each of them for the first time on your computer, you will be asked to locate the folder where the Chromatic Hits soundfont demo is in your computer. To avoid this the next time you want to use the preset, resave each preset and the path for your machine will be saved in each preset.
Download the presets HERE
And here's the direct link to download the Chromatic Hits soundfont demo if you do not already have it: demo sf2
IMPORTANT: Note that the full version of the Chromatic Hits does not currently have any SC1 presets and I have no precise plan to create some.

Comments and questions are welcome!
Thank you!

That worked for me: I had to browse for each .fxp, then after I hit "save", the fxp loaded fine. It's not a terrible pain, but it would be a little painful for a larger collection.
It would be ten times easier if you didn't have to use that stupid little folder-tree window (when are they going to make that thing bigger??), and instead could use the standard Windows Open dialogue window; I could just paste or type the path in there, without having to drill down in that too-small window.
Whose decision is that, which type of Windows dialogue to use? Is it possible to change that?

Hi bduffy,
Thanks for trying the presets and your post.
Thanks for trying the presets and your post.
Good to know that it works. I agree that it's a bit cumbersome for large number of presets. When SC1 became freeware, I tought that it's a good way to create and share presets for my (or others) sample sets but I am not so sure be cause of this.bduffy wrote:That worked for me: I had to browse for each .fxp, then after I hit "save", the fxp loaded fine. It's not a terrible pain, but it would be a little painful for a larger collection.
In fact, the easiest way would be that the presets use a relative path for the samples location. But that may be part of the VST presets specs and not specific to SC1.bduffy wrote: It would be ten times easier if you didn't have to use that stupid little folder-tree window (when are they going to make that thing bigger??), and instead could use the standard Windows Open dialogue window; I could just paste or type the path in there, without having to drill down in that too-small window.

Thanks for the info but this applies to SC1 own's SCM files (multi) and I am afraid that it's not helping with the VST presets.

And the fact that several VST presets (small size files) can be created for a specific sf2 makes it even better!BFunKu wrote:So ShortCircuit VST Loads SF2 Banks? I didn't know that cool.
