'nother nod to watto-me like. My upright growing up was never that sweet. I'm buying some sampletekk today/tomorrow, but this one has some character, not as "nice" as the grands, but not as rough as the rain piano.

i wish i had a piano... i of have this screwy jazz noodling style, but if you like it you like it. i could probably find one to fix up for free if i looked hard enough, this is santa fe... lates...

@p356: Thanks mate - that's EXACTLY what I was going for! Not as rough as the ragtime/bar-room type pianos, but not as perfect as the fancy grands either

@dover: Screwy jazz noodling... maybe a runagate/dover collab is a goer?

OK, gets strong vote of confidence from me

I love the close resonances, it is like a well tuned livingroom johanna...

Don't know if you've heard much Anthony Phillips, but it sounds somewhat like his piano, but just a bit brighter [which is easier to manage than a dull one, after all - with a dull one you can't put in what isn't there; but a bright one can always be tweaked to fit a situation]

I prefer the sound from the first demo.
In the second demo, when you start playing harder (from about 0.15) the tone is much less mellow on the louder notes.
But then again, maybe the mellowness wouldn't cut through so well in a mix, but I prefer the first demo as a solo sound.

Well, that'd be a matter of adjusting your velocity curves, or maybe having a "mellow" preset, yeah?

Duncan, yeah, I think brighter is more flexible too - I haven't actually eq'd the piano at all, so that must be the mics and maybe the reverb

Hmmm, Duncan's interested, eh - I'd love to create a VST of my piano

Unfortunately, I ran out of time to realistically get it ready for our gig, so I left it the last couple of days - will get to it again at the beginning of next week

So, any word on this one? I'm debating on whether to put money into another Sampletekk group buy for Vertikal piano, or see if this one fits the bill?

Tell me about it! I keep telling myself(and my wife tells me as well!) that I have enough pianos to last a lifetime. But NOOOOOOO, I don't believe myself when I hear that.

So yeah, I can ALWAYS use a new piano!

Watto: Glad to hear that you're still developing this piano. You're thinking of making it a vsti? My worry, then, is that the user loses some control. (Over the envelopes, the velocity curves, etc...)
