Hi All,
I'm about to finish the new MrRay73 mk2 and I'd need only 2 beta-testers:

- one should be a good pianist, should own a Rhodes (better if Mark I) and should be able to play and record audio and midi files with his computer;

- another one should be a VST addict :D with plenty of different VST host and more than one computer to test the plugin on.

This is very important for me because this is my very first "complete" VST plugin in pure C++ code (without the help of SE) and I'm looking forward to porting this to Mac :D

This is a shot of the new interface:

Thanks
Guido.

EDIT:
Public beta testing files are linked somewhere along this thread, so please skip to last page and look backwards to find the most recent. Thanks :)

DAMN! I'm away from home right now, but normally I'd qualify as #2. :( :bang:

I can't wait to use the new version! No SE! WOW! Test well, O lucky testers. ;)

Hi Ziokiller,

I have several hosts and access to several computers and I can also play piano/record midi. Let me know if I can assist you.

I wouldn't quite qualify as #1 as my keyboard skills suck (or even fully #2 as I don't have a large number of hosts) but I do have a Mark 1. If you can think of any way I'd be able to help you out, shoot me a PM or an email.

Mr Ray v1 abuser with 2 computers and many hosts (and average piano skills) craving to feed this one into GS201 :D

Hi Guido. This looks fantastic! Any ideas when it will be released and how much it will cost? I love your work. I recently sold NI Elektrik Piano because I much prefered MR Ray 73! Will Mark 2 be better on CPU the Mark 1?

Post

Hmm... I've got good piano skills, but never played any actual rhodes, let alone mark 1. Just pianos.

Hey I don't have a Mark 1, but I do have a few hosts and computers, and I have a girlfriend who's a quite competent piano player... :D

When: as soon as possibile... maybe in a couple of weeks
Price: Something between 38,99 and 39,01 euros
CPU: this version is fully polyphonic (73 notes) and according to my tests I have the following results (with all 73 notes playing simultaneously):
- Intel Q6600: less than 30% for only one core (the host just chooses one of the 4 available cores and uses that as a single core CPU)
- Intel P4 @ 2.4 GHz (socket 478): 60 ~ 70%
- Intel P4 mobile @ 2.8 GHz: 50 ~ 60%
- Intel Pentium M (Centrino?) @ 1 GHz: 70 ~ 80%

I was surprised by the Pentium M, it performs like a P4 more than double its clock speed. It was from a Mini-ITX board we were testing, and it really rocks!

Anyway, in a normal playing situation when you mostly reach 25 ~ 30 notes being played at a time (with the use of the sustain pedal) you barely will see your CPU indicator saying 10%.

It stays at 2~3% when idle.

Memory used: at a sampling rate of 48 KHz all the internal tables and buffers will take less than 4 Mb of system memory.

I can play anychord known to man with timing so bad yer 3 year old could do better, but I can play 60s style pop arrangments ok. I sold my rhodes so let me beta test. :D

i'd do it but my skills as a keyboardist aren't that great(holds head in shame). but good luck, you other Epiano plugins kick nuff ass btw :)

I've played a few Rhodes pianos in the past and am heavily into piano players like Joe Sample, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea etc. I don't own a Rhodes at the mo but retro keyboards are my thing - Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Clavinet and Hammond. Most of the music I play is retro 70's funk.

I (legally) have a version of every current DAW, except protools (sonar, cubase, samplitude, fl studio, orion platinum, ext2, etc.)

I have 8 computers all running various operating systems, from windows 2000 up to vista, from old laptops to new laptops, from slow desktops to a current monster.

I have beta tested for other synth devs before (wusik, algomusic, ugo, tone2, etc)

I qualify for #2 - hopelessly addicted (lol) - I own thousands of vsts. I have several keyboards and control surfaces that I can test it on as well.

Thank you for your consideration.

I'm probably not ideal as a beta tester, but I just wanted to say I'm extremely excited about this!!!!
