On a brighter note, I really like the sounds. I can use some for more that just bass. I also really like the second bass you get on the upper octaves.

I figured it probably wasn't exactly what you asked, but I didn't want to make William feel bad, and wasn't sure you had asked what you really wanted to ask. I thought I already posted what the extracted sizes were before I posted sizes prior to extraction. Sounds like a dental problem.
I'll be waiting, but this time not for contest results.

CloudNine
You can try the sets and presets there with version 4.1.8 with the disk streaming off.
You should then not get any crash and be able to hear the sets properly I believe. Can you let me know.
Edit - Also try the sets on their own....the Pickup set has the smoother sound.... The Mic set captures some body etc.
Some presets blend the 2 so adjust volumes to taste of each set.

You're welcome. Glad I could work it off.
I'll report back most likely later today after updating Wusikstation and testing all patches with disk streaming off. However, it may not let me load real big patches without disk streaming since I just have a gig of ram. I imagine there aren't any too big, though.

A Few notes about the SoundSets:
The first patch uses the Mic set...It is a bit more ambient and noisier in the terms that it picks up the frets etc a bit more.
Try the Pickup set on its own and you should see smoother results.
Remember though...This is an Acoustic Bass and will be more ambient and varying in sounds/velocities than our Pure electric sets like are in our ManyBass product.
I was just playing it here and although not a bass for every occasion ...it does have some cool tones and uses. The mp3's on our webpage show that I think?

A Few more notes on the sounds and Guitars in general....
As any guitar will do, depending on the fretted location there are varying degrees of Fret buzz. Yes some notes carry more than others and this is true with most any guitar sampleset. (Sometimes you can't get away from it unless you raise the strings higher which makes it more unplayable.) But it still all works as a set overall I believe. At the time we created that Set we had to watch the size as ManyStation plays from Ram. For that reason not every note in every fretted location was sampled. (If you know what I mean) That would make for a more consistent set but would be Huge on the Ram.
Lets see if William fixes the issue you reported and maybe that will make things a bit better.
Anyways ...hope you get some use out of it.

No. The change in sound is not fret noise.
It will take awhile to go through everything.
It's sort of like the same samples were run through different effects to produce either mic or pickup characteristics?
I'll check out the mp3s to see if I can hear anything there.
Sometimes variation in timbre can add to making stuff more interesting. Possibly it will add to some of the things I create playing chords with the set.

Demos 1 and 2 are nice.
Demo 3 bass could be beefier for that type of music.
Mostly just wanting to hear fatter than thinner on demo 3...

Definitely not. The sets were tracked separately but at the same time. You are hearing the same played note, but from 2 tracks ...not from FX. The sets are recorded natural and clean.CloudNine wrote: It's sort of like the same samples were run through different effects to produce either mic or pickup characteristics?
The Mic and Pickup recordings were then edited together to keep notes the same and synced. (for layering in ManyStation)
Anyways .... as said it ain't a huge set and there will be some note variation based on how the guitar actually sounded for each fretted location.
Lets see what William comes up with though concerning your disk streaming crash issues.

Just had huge monitor spike all the way to the right in FLStudio playing chords with the Ethereal patch using Wuskikstation 4.1.8. Speakers sounded like bacon frying in a rainstorm on a tin roof.
Can't afford to be playing this set anymore until the issue gets fixed.

Please send pm when this issue is resolved. I put some reminders into William but I guess he's busy.
I'd like to try some of your other products at some point and am looking forward to being able to play with the Ovation sample pack.
Thanks.
