Done. Skinned with Knobman. I didn't touch a paint program. Cool enough!

g200kg, thanks for the update, especially for the antialiasing-state to be saved! :)

- some additional requests, if i may :

these requests are very important when it comes to very small knobs.
it's easy to do interresting medium/big knobs, but making small interresting
knobs is hard and would make it easier when the following could be implemented:

- embossing (especially, when inverse), creates a sharp edge ... i'd like to be able to diffuse it often, as it's too sharp often ...

- embossing outside the borders of a primitive would be very handy, as well both, embossing inside _and_ outside simultanesly on one primitive.
i know i could do that by layering two primitives, though it would make rescaling the size a little easier ...

- being able to resize the texture individually would be great.

being able to set the size of the dropshadow individually would be great, too ...

- diffusion should be availlable to all primitives, imo

- right now the h-and-v-lines primitives are very hard to adjust, is there a chance that you can optimize this? they're only working correctly at some sizes/distributions. especially when you need them very thin and dense (without antialiasing), it's hard to get them equally in position and stripe-size ...

- i'd like to be able to exclude (by a switch, maybe) layers individually from the resizing of the bitmap size. often a dropshadow overlaps the actual bitmap size, then you have to rezize the bitmap in the pref's, and after that you have to readjust every layer to the size you had before, which is a painful work to do ... :)

and now, finally the last issue,i couldn't come across how to manage it:

imagine i'd like to do a vertical slider.
now, for the handle (the knob, if you will) i use a filled rectangle. of course, i need to adjust it way smaller than the actual bitmap size, so i zoom it down quite a bit ...
then i'm shaping it with all kinds of stuff, like i.e. embossing, edge, gradation, etc ...
now, what i've stumbled on is:
if you move that slider-handle in preview mode (128 frames), it changes it's state of the shaping a lot, meaning it looks like the embossing and the gradation are changing it's state each step while moving ...
when layering a white strip onto very middle of the handle (also without antialiasing), which should make the exact same vertical movement as the handle in preview mode, it is not always at the exact middle position on the handle each step ...
i can't describe it better, sorry ...
the funny thing is, when i use 100% zoom, this doesn't happen ...
but that doesn't help, as one can't change the bitmap size seperateley, the primitives zoom also, when changing the bitmap size ...

having begged/said all that i just would like to point out again that what you gave us all is absoluteley fabulous!
so please don't be mad at me for always requesting ...

just let me know what you think of these issues!

btw:
i can't wait for your gui-maker!
though one could do most stuff already in knobman ... :)

thanks again so much!

I paid my way and am delighted to have done so as this is one of the best things that ever came my way.

Somewhere down the track I want to offer a knob pack too.

:)

ahhh... little nitpicky bug here, when you create a new knob, it doesn't change the old name,.

figured out how to fix the illusion of the knob sinking into the panel, if you use 2 layer to do your edgemap, and leave them fixed, then you can rotate the middle of the knob and preserve the illusion. if you add another fixed luminious mask over the edge later on in higher layers, it will add more 3d depth and lighting illusion.

fancy posting a couple of examples of that, dover? I'm not really following it

its too busy for new knobs at the moment, maybe later this year...

peace,

I couldn't download - is there a chance anyone could email them to me?

Best regards

Nice, except what causes my head go spinning so badly I could never concentrate while using that plugin, is that there's more or less photorealistic knobs, with highlights on different sides, in such a way that at least I can't manage to fit the lightsource anywhere and come up with that as a result. :)

Honestly, yeah it might be academic, but it does bother me, so I thought I'd say before some future user of yours does. :)
