Does anyone use a cooling pad for your macbook. These things get so hot!

a drumstick, works perfect for my MBP 15 inch
a piece of plastic water pipe is nice too
as my bedtable I use a milkbox crate ( http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=h ... hl=en&um=1 )
with fans...

does anybody actually sit with these things on their lap?
my mac gets so frikking hot.... I am affraid 1 day it is going to melt. if I put it on my lap, my thighs turn red.. I actually just leave it on my desk... if I am not playing music on it, it seems to be ok, I have had it on my lap a few times checking my email here and there in my car. but at home, playing music, forget it.
I guess that is why their are no quadcore macbook pro's....

I have a first generation macbook pro intel and it used to get sooooo hot. I actually thought the hard drive was bad and had it replaced because it was making weird noises, but when I got it home, it kept making the noises and I realized it was the internal fan doing its best.

i just can't endure having something between me and the laptop, making it higher and the keyboad even less preactical than it is
