I will like someone to help me with mk-149 driver , cos i can not use my MIDI keyboard again after formating my laptop and installing win xp pro.

I have the very same keyboard. It does not require any drivers since it only connects by basic Midi. The only thing that's available is the user manual: http://www.m-audio.com/images/global/ma ... 149eng.pdf
Yes, Evolution has been taken over by M-Audio.

Maybe you need drivers for the midi port in your PC? What make / model is that? Do you connect it through a USB soundcard or something?

The latest drivers for any of the newer M-Audio keyboards are compatible with evolution keyboards. Just download drivers for the Axiom series for example and it will provide support for the MK-149.

Evolution keyboards are also class compliant if I remember correctly and don't *require* drivers they will operate as a generic midi device.

If you still want the Evolution driver and I'll put it on line.

If it will install. You'll probably need to go to device manager and update to install this.

I am begining to think that the problem is not the driver because when i connect the keyboard i get a warning with the text below.

USB device not recognized

One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it.

My Laptop Specs : DELL INSPIRON B130 , 512 RAM , 60GB HDD, WIN XP Pro.

I have this keyboard too. As mentioned, the MK 149 doesn't need drivers, it only sends regular MIDI out.

So, you must have a MIDI to USB interface, yes? What make and model is it? That is the thing you might need drivers for. Also test the USB port itself with something else, like a USB fob drive or a digital camera.
I have a cunning plan ...

I had this message once, and it was not the connected appliance (a usb flash drive), it was the usb port itself that was broken. Try connecting to another port.

So what midi to usb interface do you use anyway?

I use a cable (midi to USB) to connect the keyboard to the computer. I bought a midi to USB connector cable in a music shop but i think it was locally constucted ( a midi to midi cable must have been bought , stripped then connedted to a USB cable)

How do you think i can connect my keyboard to my computer because i really need to use the keyboard. Is there an interface that i can use? please tell me how i can get it.

If you have any cable that has worked , how can i get it, am looking for onr to buy, or at least an interface from my keyboard to my computer USB port.
