Hope this isn't one of those...
Is there any freeware software that performs auto loop point location? I'm trying to loop some strings and choir samples using Sound Forge 6 but it's so difficult and even when it seems a good loop there always that flutter....

Not free, but the only two I know: Antares Infinity for Mac, Zero-X Seamless Looper for Windows (I have this one).
Zero-X SL is a good tool and I've used it a lot, but note that some sounds are very tricky to loop (string ensembles and choirs included). Sometimes it finds a perfect loop instantly, but other times - nothing. YMMV, definetely.
Search for this subject (looping) around here and on the web and you will find some good tips. But in the end, looping is an art and depends a lot more on your practice than on your tools.

Thanks for the prompt reply, since auto loop location is a feature in many samplers I was expecting there was more to choose from and maybe some freeware plugins from the talented programers from KVR members.
Definatly it is a lot of practice what i need but the more I hear a loop the more glitches I find, after a while my strings are sounding like weeweewee... lol.

The best available on PC is IMO Wavelab. Its got a pretty decent auto-loop finder, but I usually finetune by hand - especially crossfade values etc.
Once I get my Mac I'll be using Keymap, which looks far better than anything else. Of course, its not cheap.

The new 3.5 update for Extreme Sample Converter added an Autoloop function (this is yesterday's news - version is 3.5.1 now). Together with the other features of its Loop Editor it can be a very capable tool for looping in general.
Actually I never used ESC for looping - only for format converting - but I'll give it a try. If you really get into looping a good format converter is a plus - sound files come in all formats and shapes. So, if you need one and also want an autoloop finder, look at the ESC. For 60 EUR you get a lot -including VSTi sampling capability.
