Marshall MG30DFX's "emulated line out" - good/bad/opinions?

This very nice sounding guitar amp and others by Marshall have an "emulated line out & headphones" output and I'm wondering about people's experiences with it. Anyone used/uses it? What are your thoughts? Managed to put it to good use, or is it unsuitable for anything serious?

Sure, I know the usual way would be to record using a mic or several, I can do that, but just wondering about a possible different way to record a guitar amp .

I have the MG30DFX, I tried running it through my M-AUDIO 1/4 in. input directly into GarageBand and the results were poor. The volume was low and wouldnt go up too high, and the sound quality was just bad overall. It did not emulate the trademark vintage sound I was hoping to hear.

Wow, almost half a year later I got a reply .
I tried it, and it did sound pretty weird. Not so bad, but indeed I wouldn't use it since micing is by far better.

It has been my experience that if you run the amp sim into an eq and cut some of the highs that you have a better chance of getting something usable.
