being completely new to samples and capsules i am confused by this capsule. so i have Qs...

what are the midi files for? and when i click the triangle in the browser next to Xbpm under midi nothing appears. ??

how do i play a loop in the 100bpm category at 130bpm?

beat-sliced is just the kits spread out across the keyboard, right?

where can i read more on how to use this capsule?

I can answer some of these, but not all.

1. I haven't figured out how the midi files work in Sampletank either. I assume that they have to be exported to your host manually.

2. Sampletank 2.5 has a 'sync' button. Activate it, and all loops (and FX as well) will automatically sync to your host tempo.

3. I believe you are correct that the beat-slice just spreads the kits out.

4. For more info, you gotta check with Esoundz/Sonic Reality. There's a readme/pdf in the folder, but if you've already seen that, my guess is you have to go to the source.

Hope that helps.

The MIDI files are to be used in conjunction with the corresponding beat-sliced versions of the grooves.

Import the MIDI file into your host, load up the beat-sliced groove in sampletank and away you go! And of course, you can mix and match grooves and MIDI files.

thx y'all!

so, there must be a better way to find to do this...

I audition the looped programs to find one I like. i then try to figure out which one it is among the midi files by counting up the keys on the keybd and then counting through the files in the folder. this is tedious and takes too long so what am I missing?

IOW, how do you quickly get the name of the loop you're auditioning?

do you mean load the midi file of one loop and the sliced program of another? if so, I tried several combos and didn't get any good results.

actually, the groove is sliced and each successive hit is assigned a note going up chromatically beginning with c1. the midi file is just triggering each sample/slice in rhythm. pretty cool (like I said, i'm new to this).

This is essentially how REX and Spectra's groove control work as well.
