Gota Yashiki's Groove Activator is very good, but for one shots, nothing I have used touches the Goldbaby MPC Vol. 1 & 2 set. Amazing drum machine & vinyl samples; over 800 between the two volumes for less than $30 USD.

Perfect for creating your own breaks.
e-LAB / equipped music has some good products also. If you can still find them, "Foundation" and "Obsession" provide a number of authentic-sounding breakbeat loops that are actually built from MIDI + oneshots.

...the former plug-ins "Foundation", "Obsession" & "Perfection" are now sold as the libraries "Nu Jazz Funk", "Breakbeat Jazz" & "Loungin House"...zircon wrote:e-LAB / equipped music has some good products also. Are you sure those aren't entirely new libraries, or libraries that expand on the original content of Foundation/Obsession (etc)?

...positive, the rex construction kits are the original content from their former vi's. however, the content has been extended by wav-versions of the loops and one-shots that have been derived from the loops. and as usual - perfect sound quality, but no documentation - the wave and rex content is similar, yet not identical - the loops are a bit different. some loops of the one format have been mixed together in the other format, some are dry some with reverb - it would have been nice if there was some kind of manual to give you an idea of the differences. whatever - the former e-lab libraries were also poorly documented...
