Any plans to post the patches for the supersaw sounds?

Wildzeke, it takes me 20 seconds to dial in the supersaw settings I used for most of the synths. Just read my instructions, please. Most synth demos don't have a save function anyway.

Really? Have you used the demo or owned it, or is that just something you've heard? I've had Absynth since version 2, and none of them have ever crashed on me. Ever. If you haven't given it a try I recommend it. Also, if it didn't cost so damn much, I would recommend Reaktor, as I guarantee that the most bitchin' supsaw can be coaxed out of that beast.

Also, Albino is stupid good. I've been testing Surge and Zebra for about two weeks now trying to make my decision, and then I just downloaded the Albino demo two days ago.

I owned v2, and the reason I didn't like it was because of the bugs. Yes, they are hard to notice and easy to ignore, but I'm very picky. I ended up selling it... maybe v4 is much better, ey? Sorry, my goal by being harsh against Absynth was to spur EW to prove something. I just seriously doubt Absynth can make any kind of supersaw. Like I said, it's not a reliable synth! :P

It has only two osc. but it has stacked waveforms, on being a supersaw which is 3 saws stacked. so thats six and then there is unison and that stuff so even more. I think it is 18? or 32? i don't remember the technical stuff but you get a viscious supersaw from it.
Krishna Synth could do a monstrous supersaw to using its awesome features.
Unique is...well...unique, I'll grant you that. Not my cup to tea. Now, SimSynth, on the other hand, rocks! Supersaw city.
SimSynth? I suppose it could make an supersaw but i never cared for it much.
The digital harshness of its sound has always turned me off. Plus, i have SS because i have FL and Sytrus can do much more than simsynth. So, you must be giving FL a shot now, huh?
Unique, is unique indeed. It is on of the grittyest synths i have. Whats better is you do not have to work at it to sound gritty it just does.

Now why the hell would your comment make me do that, Archie?

1) I don't use supersaws; they're one of the worst chiches in modern electronic music. I just did it for my own satisfaction.
2) I said how to do it- anybody can follow my guidelines and see for themselves that I'm right.
3) If I did, we'd all be subject to the all too familiar sight of you editing your posts as you try to not look too incompetent...

Sylenth does a good supersaw too but I really don't like it's filter.
audio or stfu :)

Helix does wonders with my favourite kind of supersaw. (The new version just had the high frequency problem fixed, and sounds so much "sharper" now. :D)

That, and it does excellent noisesaws (those heard not on tarnce, but on hardcore techno/gabber and such.) What out of that list can do that hooverish noisesaw sound? (It's barely melodic, and sounds exactly like the label says.)

KarmaFX Synth does a spot-on one. :) I'll post examples if anyone's interested.

How many saws make sense? I've tested some stuff here and couldn't make out much of a difference after 10-12 slightly detuned saws - especially if you have additional means such as noise generators at hand. I guess that's the reason why the Virus TI stops at 9. They probably thought it wasn't worth adding more.

Thus I'm not sure if I'd settle with maybe 8, 11 or 16 saws for the next implementation...?

I mean seriously, does 32 saws make a difference to 12? What if you add a bit of white noise to 12? And how many cents would the maximum detune be? Is there a relation between detune and the number of audible saws?

Sorry for the OT question, but there seem to be a lot of experts in this thread...

Thanks,

;) Urs
The difference between 2 and 3 saws is much bigger than between 20 and 30 saws.

I noticed that with my 48 Oscillator setup that things still were very close to something that could be done with, say, 9 oscillators, except that the thing sounds a bit more "smeared", and with very little occasional peaking/phasing effects.

A demo I made of it recently:

you have control on the unison's panning/volume/pitch spread, starting phase & more
Could you please post the patch? There are some very good sounds in this MP3 (and no, I'm not a supersaw/hypersaw fan).

I suppose you mean the second part, not the dry saw. Project here (it uses Maximus but you'll get the same with the free You Wa Shock. Also it'll probably show a warning when loaded in FL7, and may crash, but the FST should load in Sytrus)
