Hi,

I've released DirectGuitar 2.0!

Yes, finally! I have had some new great ideas which I wanted to put in the new version so I've delayed the releasing date.

Because it's Christmas time I've decided to release DirectGuitar 2.0 with a special xmas offer.

Only untill the end of the year. "If you buy DirectGuitar 2.0 you'll receive DirectBass lite for FREE."

What's new on DirectGuitar 2.0...

Ok let me write a short description for who has forgotten what DirectGuitar is:

Description:

DirectGuitar 2.0 is an innovative 9Gb electric guitar sample library for NI Kontakt 2-3 direct recorded for amp simulator.

Highlights:

Each selector is 1.2 Gb and about 720 samples at 24Bit 96Khz, full sustain, natural decay (no loops), 3 velocity layers, round robin for alternate picking.

Key switching:

slides, palm mute, pinch harmonics, tapping, trills, octave chords.
Release notes, fret noises, hand noises, pick noises, strum noises, cable noises, finger noises.

12 articulations:

bridge, mid-bridge, mid, mid-neck, neck, jazz, strum, slap hand, arpeggio, chords, Mute M+N, mute M+B.

Hell i'm gonna push my luck.....something between this: bridge, mid-bridge, mid, mid-neck, neck would be great to fully test it with an amp simulator.

Looks good, Andrea!

I'm very impressed with your demos (being a keyboard player myself). The one articulation where I'd like to see/hear a demo is with straight rhythm strum lines (Think beginning of Foo Fighters "Next Year"). Otherwise, I'm pretty-much sold!

A question: the upgrade to version 2 could be bought only by directguitar 1.X owners? I mean, one could buy the upgrade alone (even if it's useless by itself) or a 1.X "licence" is required to close the transation?

Another one: I suppose the new version 2 uses advanced kontakt-only features (scripting), but i would know if the samples are encripted, or not. In the second case, i can translate them in another format and try to use them in the right way (even without kontakt).

I ask those things because i own the lite version of directguitar, and the upgrade's new articulations seems very nice.

I'm sorry, for buying an ungrade of DirectGuitar is required a 1.x licence.

No the version 2 doesn't use any kontakt script, it uses many cool Kontakt features: Key switching, beat machine, Round robin but not scripts.

The samples are not encripted but I prefer you to not traslate it. I don't have any control on you, no webcam in your studio and I don't live at your house so even if I say "NO, YOU CAN'T" I know that you will

It's important that if you translate DirectGuitar into another format it must remain in your studio just for your work. You can't upload it anywhere or distrubute it or give a copy to your friends.

Andrea, is there a table of differences between Direct Guitar 1.x and 2.0? I am an owner considering the upgrade, and would like to see exactly what I'll get with it.

Thanks. I watched the videos and they are impressive indeed. Nice playing too. I will test the free version in Samplelord for compatibility, and if there aren't any problems I will probably buy it real soon.
The great support I got from you in the past has certainly played a role in my decision to buy the upgrade, as is the quality of version 1.x of the sample set. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Andrea for the response. I must say however that (speaking for directguitar lite only) the traslation of the samples is not allowed/forbidden in the licence, so i don't think i do anything wrong if i translate the samples. Apart from this point, I know very well that re-distribution of the lib (translated or not) it's a violation of the licence.

I've noticed that the free version of DirectBass and DirectGuitar 1.5 contain .nkm files and no .nki. Unfortunately, my sample player (Samplelord) supports only .nki files and so does my sample converter.
My question is: does the full product have .nki files as well as .nkm?

If you tell me how to save them in .nki I will.
