What do you folks who have played with them think? All the dealers are selling them for 1/3 retail or less. Looks like a bargain, but does that mean they're at the end of their life cycle? Is Alesis planning on releasing something to replace them?

I know someone that used to work for Alesis, he specifically worked on the Fusion so he has a bunch of them lying around. They are a pretty nice workstation for the price, they get pretty deep as far as the synth engine and sampling are concerned. If you are looking for an all around, work horse synth, I don't think you'll be disapointed. I don't know what the roadmap for that product line is. If they having any plans to refresh that series you'll here about it in January at NAMM most likely.

any one who knows their keyboards at a music shop will tell you that the alesis fusion dwarfs the korg triton in terms of features and capability. The english manual it comes with is almost 400 pages long. The presets are more astounding (IMO) than the Korg triton or even Roland's fantom (one of my favs). Just because it costs way less means virtually nothing in this case.
i would recommend it over the triton any day. i've played with both quite a bit.

I've had mine over a year now but had little time to play with it. I do love it though and every now and again when I get to play with it I find it easy to get back in to. It is very versatile. Most were fitted with an 80Gb drive rather than the 40Gb one quoted.
