Now to you workstation gurus, this is going to be a "newb" question that I always wanted to know but kept forgetting to ask...
Can you combine combis? If so, would someone be so kind as to treat me stupid (shouldn't be hard) and tell me how?

No ridicule,
I don't think you can combine them (easily)
I suppose you could do this:
- load ST2, open "Combi1"
- load another ST2, open "Combi2"
- manually copy the Instrument and FX settings from Combi2 into the ST2 containing Combi1
- save the result as a new Combi name.
Long-winded, but possible.
Let us know how it goes.

It's a little easier than that but still more cumbersome than I would like
This seems to work so far....
Load the combi with the smallest number of parts.
Save the individually tweaked parts as new (user named) Instrument Parts.
They wind up as child presets.
Load the larger combi and add the new child presets and save as a new user named combi.
BTW, Squids if you're reading this, I really am loving SS2...you were right as always!

hey beer, glad you're liking SS2!! (kind of thought you would )
This should definately be a feature request to IK.
We discussed this a while ago, but it didn't get into Sampletank 2.5.
The method you came up with is the way I've been doing it. You can also run separate instances with each combi, (definately the quickest, but a bit harder on the CPU). We need some sort of combi combiner. lol
It would also be nice for organization, if we could reorder the rows.

SS2 really has it's heart in the 60's and 70's. Dave (Squids) is really a hippie in a younger man's suit 
I'm finishing up a tune I've been working on and SS2 is getting me there quickly. I'll post it here when it's done.
BTW, my boss is hinting rather heavily that I need to come out to Ft. Atkinson (and Burnsville, MN...WTF!!!) sometime in January

The greatest part about Sonik Synth 2 is how flexible it is. It work in many different styles, from modern pop and rock to film scores to abstract electronica to psychedelic weirdness and more... and Sonik Synth 2 has been the foundation of my SampleTank2 library since its release. I've recently used it for almost all the instruments in my latest pop/rock song, and you guys are loving it for authentic 60s and 70s!
For combining combis, the easiest obvious solution is to simply load SampleTank2 or Sonik Synth 2 as many times as you need. They don't take that much extra resources (a handful should be fine - you might run into problems if you want to load sixteen or thirty two instances!).

Thanks guys. Glad you like SS2. I do too! But mostly for what you can do with it! It's got raw material for infinite sculpting of combis. I recommend making combis in ST2.5 with it so you can take advantage of the advanced effects section. 100 combis are coming very soon that will show what it can do (for group buy participants and for sale to others who want it).
