You can use an application like:-

Extreme Sample Converter: http://www.extranslator.com/
CDXTRACT: http://www.cdxtract.com/
ChickenSys Translator: http://www.chickensys.com/

On the other hand, the freeware SynthFont might be able to do this?

My personal recommendation goes to Extreme Sample Converter. It's helped me convert a ton of SF2's, AKAI CDs, GIGA, etc. to Kontakt format and it's an absolute gem. The dev is very responsive. :tu:

Can you do anything useful with the demo version of ESC?

You can download free SFZ editor SFZed http://audio.clockbeat.com/sfZed.html. Import soundfonts into it and then save them as SFZ files. It extracts all the samples in their original form.

Ah, excellent! :tu:

SFZ is basically a text file and a bunch of WAVs, so this is definately the best free method for what you want.

CloudNine: According to the demo info:
Demo version has occasional silent noise beep added to processed samples.
