amiga909: Yes, the Jomox Sunsyn is a truly fantastic sounding synth. Rather pricey, but up there with the best of them. Waldorf doesn't have too many "real analog" synths, although of course they sound great. I love my Q!

Because it doesn't sound nearly as good as the "real" (read: old) Prophet.

- andromeda: prolly the best analog poly in terms of price/specs. in my (rather first-view) opinion the A6 lacks a bit of "warmth".
- PolyEvolver: yeah the keyboard price is much higher, and > 3000$.. high price raise regarding rack version is ok, I believe the controls on the keyboard are highest class quality.
the polyevolver surely is a good choice, you get a lot of new sonic potential, would not call it true "analoguish", coz it lacks a bit the "dirtyness" you can hardly get with plugins.

personally I would not go for a "mass-production" synth if I spend so much money. my choice would be sunsyn, slightly more expensive than andromeda thu. if I had to choose a monophonic analogue (oh god, if I only had to, hehe) I'd take a Cwejman or Macbeth. when it comes to sheer prestige, the EMS-reminding SUITCASED vostok matrixsynth by analogue solutions would be my choice

edit: dropping a lot of money also should mean you have good long-term support. personally I had very good experiences with Jomox (have a airbase99).

I tried Little Phatty and liked it very much. Waldorf Pulse as well (sold it a few years ago, though),

Thanks for the new tips, I will check them all out. Problem will be availability in Belgium, I don't like ordering something that pricey thru a website and risking transport damage.

I played with a little phatty for a couple of days.The filter overload parameter is fantastic.I endded up getting a Voyager RME instead. It sounds great but I really wish it had the same filter overload thing.

don't forget it's not supposed to be a prophet five redo. As people say the tone is basically halfway between the prophet and the evolvers, which I liked a lot, and that'll blend more easily for some of the people working on newer electronic styles.

Recommend me a real analog synth
