Simply amazing! I was particularly blown away by the AC/DC and Nirvana Kits. To me they sound the same, but even better, if that's possible. You are a genius!
I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day!

Thanks very much. The Nirvana one is probably my favorite, I loved that band, but their drum sound was so thick and low, very inspiring to me.

inspired by Tommy Lee on Motley Crue "Primal Scream".. still beta and being tweaked...

One of the most legendary and classic drum sounds ever is that of Led Zeppelin. Here is my modernized model of that sound, soon to be featured as one of the signature drumkits in STEVEN SLATE DRUMS 2.0 SIGNATURE DRUMKITS:

The Led Zep kit was a lot of fun to model, especially because the music is just so amazing.

Drums only, with mix compression:

Scott from Vita's (www.vitaetmusica.com) version with bass and guitars and even more insane compression:

and the actual sounds coming off the keyboard, no further processing:

2.0 comes out soon!

Now I bring you guys one of my personal favorite kits from the new 2.0, the vintage Led Zeppelin inspired drumkit.

I went through painstaking efforts to make this kit what it is.. Maple 14" x 26" kick drums, 14, 16, 18 toms.. all with Emporer/Ambassador combos and tuned just like John's. The snare is a Ludwig Supraphonic 5.5", again Emporer on top.

The samples were done in the entrance hall in a stone walled castle in the Hollywood Hills.

Here is the first demo, right out of Kontakt with some 1176s smashing it:

And right out of Kontakt, no additional processing:

Here again is the MODERNIZED version of that sound w/ compression:

and with a mix courtesy of Scott from Vita Et Music:

Do my eyes see the words 'Dream Theater demo'? Does this mean a Mike Portnoy kit is also coming? I've gotta tell you Slate, I've had my eyes on your sets for a while (although I loves my EZDrummer too), but that could sell me on it. Wouldn't such a set necessarily bring up the more-than-four-toms issue you were talking about earlier in the thread, though?

It's sounding fantastic Steven! Very exciting stuff!

I do have a very VERY tight model of the Dream Theater "systematic chaos" kit, albeit, we canned the tiny tom. I think if its really needed, one of the toms can be pitched.

I'm also quite proud of the new Deftones inspired kit which came out VERY nice.

But the Led Zep was so fun. Hearing those drums in that castle was quite amazing. We also will have a version with closer room mics for a slightly less enormous sound.

Is there a european distributor for this product? It would be optimal if it would be available as download, as I hate to pay customs!

Post

Because the actual value of the discs is so low, the declared value is very low, therefore, no customs charges. We ship to Europe EVERY day, tons of European customers. However, we will be in European chains too. Please send popular European pro audio chain info to:

Ok, here is another modeled kit based on vintage Bonham sound... this time WITH TOMS. This kit was sampled in a stone castle in the Hollywood hills. This demo uses the closer of the two room mics that were recorded.

Straight out of Kontakt:

We are very close to a release, and preorders are available at a 20 dollar discount here:

Yes, This stuff is amazing. I have the 1.5 elite mixer sets. WOW, i also have EZD, like someone above and geez these Steve Slaten drums are fantastic.
However there is no Hats or cymbals in the 1.5? Will there be in the 2.0?

The only thing EZD has over these is they are already mapped and ready to bang. The 1.5 are of outstanding quality, really, really good.

I just wished they had some other formats aside from .gog
Guru could be good.
I really look forward to the new set.
Great Work. The demo's are really good. I know the actual drums will be to!!!!
