If you want to offer any criticism or helpful advice, please post. If you want to suggest any processing I may yet do on these, pls. post. In the event you find yourself really, really grateful to have these, it wouldn't hurt to send me $10 USD via Paypal. But I'm not holding my breath.

If you use them comercially in any way, pls. send $10 USD or $20 if you feel it appropriate. I pledge to hand it over to the drummer, Ian Dylan, who made this possible. His website BTW is located at http://www.myspace.com/iandylantrio and gigs around the Washington DC area.

Go here: http://homeofthegnome.net/Ian.Dylan.Proj/ and help yourself to anything in the folder. There are 4 directories: the stereo collection, the mono, the REX2 (my first time doing rex.) and the folder labelled "badaboom," which is actually small phrases or "licks" which I happened to like while I was looking for one-shots. Who knows, you may find something you like. They all have very small fade curves at the beginning and end, and I sliced them nearly all to zero crossings, by eyeball, before applying the fades. I hope you enjoy these. Just give me some feedback. I can use all helpful advice.

These past days have been busy; a lot of people share gifts. I guess we are busy downloading those, and the sample section is a slow board compared to the instruments section that has numeruous more visits and postings...

Well thanks for a reply. I guess since it's my first offering of anything here at KVR I'm very anxious about it and besides the holidays always bum me out

. But I guess this kind of thing is also like throwing seeds out to the wind; if any take root you may never know it. I'm sure any freeware dev'er is familiar with that kind of thing. Like how few people ever bother to review the VSTs they get or contact the dev'er. I know I'm guilty of that sometimes. Mike, better try downloading it again then. I just dl'ed it and checked out each sample, and they all were good. There are 72 .wav files however, and it is a pretty big download, so corruption has been known to happen with a file that big while downloading.

BTW, dear users, the "badaboom" folder is really just a bunch of licks and weird one-hits that you don't usually find in a drum library. For instance, a bass kick and a snare rim shot simultaneously, I see a few of those in there. Why? I guess I just thought they sounded cool, maybe I was a bit baked. All kinds of odd stuff in there. Should have named the folder "odds n sods" instead of "badaboom," really.

anyway, maybe you should do another bigger library and offer it (after christmas) for 10 bucks in the market place. Seems to work for dusted and herodotus.

Well, thanks. Ah, you mean Bruce Willis' great work.

And BTW, I did actually slice at least twice as many samples that I left out from the zips I published. I just thought it were better to thin them out.

I've actually purchased Dusted's drums myself. And if I had been a bit more professional about it I might have done just as you say and sold them, but I was really just trying my new recording gear out, and trying Reaper for the 1st time outside the house, too. This was a fun project and a good way of getting my feet wet with Reaper, and with Audition 3 too. Audition 3 is a dream for doing work just like this. I was very fortunate to have found a sealed copy of Audition 1 for $75 USD a few months ago, which qualified me for Audition 3 for $100 USD. Hell, Audition 1 is still great. CoolEditPro all the way.
