HALion and Akai CDs-HALion and external formats...opinions

... or do you prefer instead an external application like ESC, Translator, CDxtract or Awave to traslate AKAI cds?

Also what do you think about the compatibility on reading non Halion formats? do you think Halion is reliable while importing banks in other formats?

just starting to think about that since the abundance of EXS24 and Kontakt libraries out there, not even mentioning eventually other less crowded formats..

expecially people doing sample libraries on daily basis and using HALion either..any advice would be very appreciated as im about starting some heavy and VERY long job to put order in the mess of my sample archives

The only Akai library I've ever used with Halion is the Pinder Mellotron CD, and that was to convert the samples to WAV format. They came out just fine. I may be one of the few who really likes Halion.

i did a quite extensive research on the subject on steinb0rg forum as well, but seems like the suggestion are along the lines of "who cares just use your halion as it can does the task" while questions actually were along "are the tasks performed well or do i need a converter" ...
I'm even starting to think to try emailing a couple of sample bank makers if they are in a good will enough to lend me some of their experience about this question (and i guess they know a thing or two about that since they need to work on such stuff on daily basis)
