I've noticed over the years with IK Multimedia that unlike most other developers, they don't release a product until it is done, regarless of how long that may take, and then it gets very few updates if any. If you want new features you're going to have to buy them in a new product or a new version, and you'll be waiting a very long time for it. They seem to view each software as a finished product, not a work in progress as most others do.

So still no X-Gear huh...

Well, while waiting, here is some "review" for AT2JHE

I don't know how much IKMM paid, but if I was them, I would call and get my money back...Oh, and sue that "I am pretending not read the text, and trying to keep my eyes unfocused" bastard...

..Heck, this moron even read his own name!

According to Squids....it will be released first WITH stompIO which he thinks will be released this month.

The non-stompIO version will be after that...so I'm thinking next month.
Play what you feel and feel what you play.

In other news, word is X-GEAR will be free for a limited time to all Amplitube-powered software owners, not just Amplitube 2 owners and those who own two or more Amplitube-powered products.

there is no excuse for software in 2007 not to be able to respond to midi. If this is what they will give us almost a year and a half after we got amplitube, then they should give it away without any time limits etc.
I have become very disappointed with IK .

Then just don't buy any IK products anymore. With so many other options on the market today, why bother?

I agree with you and that is my position. however for the half baked ones I have bought, I would like to see them finished.

Buying software on speculation is always a bad investment.

Post

I bought it when a demo was not available (that is I bought amplitube 1 when it was announced a free upgrade to 2 would be available). You are right, however there is no way in any possible mature logical discussion you can try to convince me that in 2007 a guitar simulation that can not be controlled in real time is anytime BUT lame ass.

too many companies have killer mp3's but no demo, or nothing at all.

at any rate, it happens and the "don't buy it then" deal doesn't always apply.

speakerphone
ez drummer
psp/add on packs
cubase

are among some of the companies without try before you buy. Only one has seriously disappointed me. Here's a hint, the one that doesn't have a forum here any more
:(
so what

this is NOT directed at you, just an observation.

Which of these products ever get's "done" before they are released??? Addictive drums (and I don't even have that anymore) is the closest I've ever known to releasing a stable/bug free/almost product!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't think of one other.
so what

Post

hi, no I didn't necessarily mean in the 1.0 version. I mean during its life cycle.

My point was that you buy software for what it is, not for what it should be, could be, or one day might be.

hey A3ntar, update the title to Amplitube X-Gear to be released this year for the next week ;)
