Ok, so since I can't buy Tsaiko until I get home(no guarantee that I'll get it downloaded here), I keep listening to the demos just for fun!

Anyways, there is an ethnic sound included in this demo:

It's the pipe/flute thingamajig that comes in near the beginning.

Are there any free samples available of this instrument?

P.S.- I can't believe that "thingamajig" is actually a word! I never knew that. But Firefox doesn't flag it as not one!

Hmmmm, nobody knows? I know I've heard this instrument before, but I'm not familiar with the various types of ethnic instruments.

it actually sounds like an ordinary traverse flute. but I could be wrong. for the taiko drums a shakuhachi would be the expected company.

I'd suggest emailing support (at) tsaiko or what ever email address the website gives. Sean will answer it, and he can tell you what you need to know.

it was a reaktor ensemble "steampipe"
can't remember the patch.
One of the flutey things.
And then maniacally jiggle the modwheel.
Bake for 30 mins at 450.
let cool.

Well, I guess getting the information straight from the composer is as accurate as you can get! Thanks Christian! It's a great piece, btw.

I'm actually waiting for an email back from Sean. He was pretty quick the first time, but this time wasn't a product related question, but rather a Taiko related question. He's likely very busy. So no rush. I'll just ask here.

Are there any good instructional sites on arranging for Taiko drums? I found this page:

Is that good accurate stuff on that page?

And AKJ, I'll look for a shakuhachi sample set. If anyone has links to any, let me know! I do have the Kontakt 2/3 libraries as well, so maybe there is one in there? It has lots of cool pipes and other stuff.

All the help is appreciated! I'll continue to search for things to supplement my likely future purchase of the Tsaiko Drums.

Hmmm, it seems that a shakuhachi is in the K3 library. So I've got that covered!

Now, for something to use instead of that Reaktor patch, hmmmmmmmmm.

What is this instrument in this Tsaiko Drums demo?
