I wanted to convert some samples to and from SND format to an NNXT and soundfont format. Is there a freeware converter that can do that since I forsee using more than a few times.

While I am indeed a very happy Extreme Sample Converter customer, there is indeed a free option from Chicken Systems:

Which works great for small one-off jobs.
