It was originally done with Julian Colbeck who used to be partners with Dave. Although it was never made in Rex2 or Apple Loops and never this price so I think this is a great opportunity to get some BRUFORD grooves for less than before and in flexible tempos.duncanparsons wrote:Nice! I recall that Dave Spiers also did some session loops with Bill some years back - these wouldn't be the same ones would they?

I am not sure when we'll release the Keith Emerson material. We might do a bit at a time. I am supposed to sample his Hammond which is at Marc Bonilla's studio right now. The previous Hammond samples he did were different and he wants to capture the way it is now which is restored to it's original state. But the Moog and GX-1 stuff might come out first. We'll see. It will all be on Studio ProFiles and he'll have a ProFile page up within the next couple of months with news on his sounds, music etc. It's a growing series that we plan to do a lot with. www.studioprofiles.com is going to be a very cool source of sounds from all sorts of different artists, producers, engineers and studios.

Thanks. There are a lot of Sonic Reality products I'm interested in, but this one is somewhat of a Holy Grail. The day it's available will be like Christmas, Hallowe'en, & my birthday all rolled into one.Squids wrote:I am not sure when we'll release the Keith Emerson material. We might do a bit at a time. Actually, the GX-1 & Moog stuff are probably of more use to me than the Hammond samples; I've had a C3 & Leslie since late high school, so I can play the real thing whenever I want. It might be interesting to see how his Hammond compares in sound to mine, however...
Hope you have a great holiday.

Well, isn't today like Christmas?
Yes, the Modular Moog and GX-1 sounds really cool. We'll have something soon. Regarding his Hammond there are some particular things he does for that gritty distortion he gets. It's pretty cool and different.

Yeah, you notice he never threw any knives into the C-3, it was always the L or M series, don't remember which. It's funny, I hated the GX-1 back in the day. Now I realize how cool-sounding it was - he just overused it, IMHO.Squids wrote:...regarding his Hammond there are some particular things he does for that gritty distortion he gets. Back OT - I take it the single hits with the Bruford kit are one-velocity?

The single hits are multiple velocity but it's not as good as some of the newer drummer's stuff. I asked Bill if he wanted to redo it and he said no so... we'll see. Maybe if it does well we can get him back in the studio. I think it is a lucky thing we have this at all - if you are a Bruford fan (which I am personally). There's some really inventive stuff in this. The hits will be cool to have as an addition to the loops.algodon wrote:Yeah, you notice he never threw any knives into the C-3, it was always the L or M series, don't remember which. For the Drum Master series we went to the classic archives of some of these drummers and remastered the mixes, programmed them in Rex as well as Apple Loops. They had never been done in these modern loop formats. So, Steve Gadd's, Bill Bruford's, part of Ed Greene's, Bun E Carlos' are all from their original CD ROMS. But, now they are around half the price and available in modern formats as part of this series.Lotuzia wrote:Yeah

The other part of Ed Greene's, Danny Gottlieb, Jerry Marotta, Nick D'Virgilio and John Blackwell's are sessions that were done more recently and the last three have never released a library before.

I was thrilled to see Jerry Marotta, but bummed they are reason refills only...

That's just a little taste from the Special Edition. We'll put that up in Rex, Apple Loops and Wave very soon as well. But his entire title will be released in the early part of 08. It's REALLY cool, especially if you're a Peter Gabriel fan.timmcallister wrote:I was thrilled to see Jerry Marotta, but bummed they are reason refills only...
