Hi,
I've recorded a string section from a keyboard that output to mono, so now I have an identical wave form of left and right channels. I thought the sound will be quite static in this case as both channels will produce the same sound exactly. So can you please recomend some tips in this regard, like fading , stereo, normalizing etc... to make the sample pure and professional?

Thanks for any help!
See you later.

Like you said, I think it's some kind of combination between those.
The most important thing I use for making samples less dull is add (a little) delay. Also if it's possible (soundscapes) use a little fade. There are also stereo widener plugs, but I don't have any experience with them.

How about doubling it with a different string patch?

hard pan both sides to left and right respectively and apply some light spike eqs to a few frequencies. bump one channel up on a freq. and the other down at same freq. then do it at few other spots. takes a bit of finessing but can appear wider.

+1
also, if you use 2 iterations of the same sample panned hard L/R, for one of them, lower the pitch a couple cents and change the start time of the loop just a little. It WILL create a large stereo effect. You'll want to tweak it out for certain, but it's pretty cool what a large effect such small changes can make 8)

and change the start time of the loop just a little
Will it not produce any clicking for the loop?

Thanks alot everyboday for contribution!

What you have now is the pure sample. That's "professional" ;-) (probably your choice of words was not the best...)

I'd just apply a stereo chorus effect on the sample in action to make it stereo.

most likely it will create a click if you change the start time... but that is why I mention that ya have to tweak/adjust it a bit when you change that start time :D

If you record it through an amp you could use two microphones instead of one and pan the tracks to your liking, and also record DI so you get more options.
