Rhino sounds awesome, but as far as I now is windows only, which means I won't be able to run it on my intel mac DAW...

Post

Yeah... I'm thinking about it.... Just unsure what is required in terms of hardware...

I hope so. I'm even willing to pay a conversion charge like GForce is doing if I can take Rhino to my MacPro.
All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

Post

you'd just need an intel mac if you don't care about supporting old PPC macs... A lot of devs seem to be getting mac minis, since they're a cheap way to get an OSX box for programming on.

Rhino looks like an amazing synth, but I can't try for myself while sitting in front of this iMac...

Post

is the miniMac and intel mac? I can get one in a pawn shop around here pretty cheap heh. But I know next to nothing about macs

Post

older mac minis are G4s, newer ones are intel core solos or intel core duos.

EDIT: WHICH MEANS WITH AN OLD ONE AND A NEW ONE YOU COULD SUPPORT BOTH TYPES OF MAC. DOH.

Just to let you know... I'm now waiting for that sweet mac to arrive, a matter of days now - 2008 will be the year of Rhino on Mac !

I hope you enjoy your macbook... I think I might actually be moving to a macbook pro (selling my iMac) for my DAW computer this summer... So I can take the mac on the road instead of having to invest in a bunch of hardware for gigs.

Actually I went for an Imac instead of the macbook - I don't move around that much, and that 24' screen is just too beautiful to be true :)

The new aluminum ones I take it?

I prefer the look of the older white ones myself, even though I know the aluminum = better build quality.

I have one of the white 20" ones... I couldn't quite bring myself to splash out the extra for a 24"... Probably better that I didn't, since the way my desk is set up with how close I sit to the screen... I really should be using a 15.4" or 17"... Like a laptop. haha.
