Maybe the commercial release of Youwashock should be called WhaSoEver...bmanic wrote:It doesn't have ANY controls whatsoever for threshold/ratio

One thing I have yet to understand - shouldn't any wet/dry control add more or less subtle phasing? I've yet to hear it in any case, so I'm sure there's a reason why not. But please let me know why.bmanic wrote:The big knob in Youwashock is a wet/dry mix knob as explained before.

I wet/dry each band separately, and with delay. Hence no filter phasing problem, and no latency phasing problem.
It was mainly added to Maximus because someone wanted 'NY compression'. But it appeared to be the most useful as a YWS knob.

This thing is awesome, I finally got brave enough to risk viruses, from a guy who calls this an effect "for your truck".
It sounds sort of like an exciter, but more crappy and edgy like a boosted eq. It can produce some intense sounds.

I've used it on entire mixes and it's the bombiest bomb. Really fills things out. Great plug!
I still think, your punctuation sucks, and your spelling isn't cool! So there...

For those who haven't read the whole thread, You Wa Shock was a prank website from us (Image-Line) to advertise the upcoming (and now released) Maximus:This thing is awesome, I finally got brave enough to risk viruses, from a guy who calls this an effect "for your truck".

YWS is a 1-knob version of Maximus, using the preset 'Max loudness 2', and with the knob mapped to 'low/mid/high mix'.
It has the advantage of being free, and of working as a Winamp plugin (in which it works really great).

Really? A mainstream company's prank?
I knew it was some sort of prank, even non-native English speaker's wouldn't have weird random words put in.
