One thing I have yet to understand - shouldn't any wet/dry control add more or less subtle phasing? I've yet to hear it in any case, so I'm sure there's a reason why not. But please let me know why.

I wet/dry each band separately, and with delay. Hence no filter phasing problem, and no latency phasing problem.
It was mainly added to Maximus because someone wanted 'NY compression'. But it appeared to be the most useful as a YWS knob.

This thing is awesome, I finally got brave enough to risk viruses, from a guy who calls this an effect "for your truck".

It sounds sort of like an exciter, but more crappy and edgy like a boosted eq. It can produce some intense sounds.

This thing is awesome, I finally got brave enough to risk viruses, from a guy who calls this an effect "for your truck".

For those who haven't read the whole thread, You Wa Shock was a prank website from us (Image-Line) to advertise the upcoming (and now released) Maximus:

YWS is a 1-knob version of Maximus, using the preset 'Max loudness 2', and with the knob mapped to 'low/mid/high mix'.
It has the advantage of being free, and of working as a Winamp plugin (in which it works really great).

I'd love to get my hands on maximus, the demo was pretty sweet..Out of my price range at the moment though..
