Hi all,

I am posting this to get a feel the interest in seeing the full ns_kit7 live on.

For those not familiar with ns_kit7. It is arguably the most complete and realistic acoustic drum samples library available. You can read more about it here: http://naturalstudio.co.uk

I have been discussing the possibility of me taking over ns_kit7 duties with ns_kit7 creator Douglas Whates and at this point want to gauge immediate and future interest in ns_kit7 in its current form as well as possible new releases in other formats, with or without a player.

Please reply here or to me personally if you are interested in future availability of the full ns_kit7.

About myself. I am a software/hardware engineer with an interest in music. Guitar and drums mostly. My initial plan would be to offer ns_kit7 as it is today. Later, I could introduce releases in different formats, with or without a player if there is an interest.

Good for you! This is exactly what I had been hoping for--I own the library and think it could be a lot more popular since it's such an incredible, extensive drum library. We'll hope for the best!

yea.. but if you make a player, allow the people that already have it get the player for a lower price...

I don't own the library and am interested in getting it. I wanted to get it on that last run but waited too long and missed out. So, count me in.

Good stuff. I think it is a great idea for someone to take over the distribution/support side if Douglas has other fish to fry just now. I have the library and use it in K2.

Hi Patrick, good luck with it, I always wanted to get this but physical shipping is a no-no for me. If i can ask, consider a digitally deliverable product.

Yes I'm interested as well.. I own the full kit. I have also taken the time to port over a patch of the conga's to Battery 3 ... which are also incredible samples. If you don't think it's worth making a stand alone player for it. I think it would be worth re-marketing it with patches avalable for popular samplers. I think Battery 3 patches would be a great sales helper..as well as Halion and Kontact 3 etc. I hope to find the time to make up some Battery patches for NS7.

If it had come in Battery 3 format I would have bought it. Considering what the US dollar is doing of late, it may soon not be an option for me. I will very soon be curtailing all unnecessary import purchases, and I am pretty well set for drum libs as it is. I would certainly love to have NSKit7, though.

18gb- WILL not be in downloadable format for forseeable future.
Costs less to deliver it.
May I suggest something? It might be better to burn the DVD's, rather than wait for a massive load of people to like it enough to buy it - that way you can do one-offs, without having to factor in large numbers of sales. At least for the beginning phases. If it took off - well, then you need the pressings.

Isnt the full set splittable in any way into subsets? (16 bits, limited velocities, partial timbres and such). I dont have it so cant tell.

This could help perhaps. Worra sells several gigs pianos at sampletekk without an hassle. But of course 18 are too much even for the faster connection.

Possibly (I'm receiving it soon), but why split it? All you'll be doing is subtracting perceived value from the minds of viewers. Everybody's got some small drumkit nowadays - the cut down ns_kitfree exists for exactly that purpose -
better, in my mind at least, to keep it a higher-price, high-quality complete-as-complete-gets product - that way, it'll retain reputation. Splitting it means people only see a subset of the whole thing - whereas if they see the whole thing, maybe they don't like the hihat, but they'll like the tom - or whatever.
Bottom line, 90% of people around the world still on dialup, particularly in rural areas.
