SOOPER KEWL!!
Thanks Tom!! I've been a huge fan of Mike Matthews and
EH from the very beginning and was an EH/Sovtek dealer in the 90's.
Never had one of these beasties tho and, considering the ridiculous
prices they fetch these days, this is the closest I'll ever come to having
one. I've said it before...I'll say it again dude.....YOU ROCK!!
Cheers....CL

and it's 25 keys, my keyrig 25 will love this.
tweaked a little bit.. and came up with some (c64) aztech challenge kind of sound.
hummm be aware the keys are fake ..
I devised a keyboard scheme. The original had a membrane keyboard so the keys didn't really move. The membrane just sort of stretched when you pressed on it. So I did the next best thing and installed a row of LEDs. Which led to the LED lay out problem... I did the best I could but if you look closely they bunch and loosen as it changes octaves.. I'd almost prefer moving keys... We'll see
You can play the keyboard by clicking the keys. It will now send midi out.

I'll never have an original either but I might decide to make some "alike" things. I can't make a membrane keyboard but I can cut up a plastic kids toy keyboard and make something better than that crap membrane. BTW I've never seen the later "built in effects" echo version in person. My friend special ordered the older version because that was the one he wanted.
I have to admit that it's hard to beat it even now. It ran on low power, it was tiny, and it sounded good. You could jam with a friend on the porch at night with a real synth. It was and still is pretty cool. Not $600 cool but cool.
I hope you like the new version. I had to do something about the midi learn switches anyway.
