Here's more info on it than you'd ever want. hehe.

It's definitely customized at this point. It's super late here or I'd post pics (definitely later on I will).

The Warmoth neck is a heavily patterned birdseye maple with a fully scalloped ebony fretboard and stainless jumbo frets. In terms of shape, it's a log much like the Jeff Beck signature strats only thicker. I never bothered to put any finishing oil on it so it's smooth and doesn't fight your left hand at all when changing positions. As the neck is about 13 years old (and has been on several strats of mine at this point), I doubt it is going to warp or it would have already. I glued a cool Japanese looking wood medallion on the headstock that looks like a daisy. It matches very well and adds a bit of mass and flair to the headstock.

The nut is carved from bone (not sure what kind). Some luthier in Knoxville made it for me.

Tuners are locking Sperzels (love 'em).

Pickups are the full set of the Fender Jeff Beck Hot Noiseless variety and are wired like a stock Strat. I used to have a strat with Brian May customs in it and (insert long boring story about how you can wire a strat in true stereo if you're not afraid to cut some holes in it).

The body is a Roland-ready Strat, so that's where the GK and toggle switch come into play.

The bridge and whammy are from Super-Vee.com. Very nice tone and it really does stay in tune. I love having fine tuners on a strat at last.

And then, of course, the new bling on the input jack as well as some strap-lock thingies.

The most wonderful thing about it is the unique tone it has. It was a charmed piece of wood to begin with (I ordered it sight unseen right when the Roland strats first came out), so I got lucky there. But when I added that neck it just started to become even cooler, and I got rid of my other strats at that point. It's a strat lover's strat in that it has retained all the archetypal stratness but it's somehow a little sweeter sounding than a stock Strat, and with the new bridge/whammy it can get a bit more Surf-twangy which I'm loving since I play it through fairly clean amps. The best way I can describe it would be to surmise that if Robin Guthrie really wanted to play a strat for the rest of his life, he'd want this one. Sustain on it is quite good even though I'm floating the trem, probably because the neck is so huge.

I string it with 10-42s as of late. I've been thinking about going with flatwound 11s, but GC was out of stock the last time I was in the store.
