I'm using the Optimist Yamaha kit on this site already, but I'm trying to see what else is out there. I'm looking for something that has a tight snare and a really low bass drum. I may end up using most of my existing kit along with some other samples, but I want to at least see what's out there.

I'm trying to get a Helmet/Primus/311/early incubus kind of sound. Something that sounds funky as heck. Again, I may not need an entire kit, mainly bass and snare is what i need. If anyone has any idea what would suit me here, please let me know. Thanks

www.modernbeats.com might have what you're looking for, for the Contemporary RnB side of things.

With stuff like that, it's a matter of adding effects, filters and some distortion to the actual samples (not just layering+panning+pitching) to get that kind of clean but trashy kind of sound from simple percussive sounds.

I mean, at least from what the arhythmiA sample CD's offer. (from Sony's loops site)

Those aren't free, an the ones that are aren't very good or suitible. Anyone else have any other ideas?

I just listened to pretty much all the ones with active links and none of them are remotely funky sounding. If I could at least find another good snare, I'd probably be set for awhile. A high tuned one that cracks or something like that

Is it just me or all the "forum" samples are unavailable?

Looking for a free Nu-Metal/R&B kit samples or full kit
