studio profiles special edition credit question

I bought the studio profiles: special edition for $150 and I remember one of the reasons I could buy it was that the cost of the disk ($150) could be used toward any of the final products or something like that. How exactly does this work, and how do I go about doing it?
thanks

That was just something that was part of the group buy we had for it. If you were in the group buy then you could apply $79 credit toward any of the forthcoming Studio ProFile titles.jeffb01 wrote:I bought the studio profiles: special edition for $150 and I remember one of the reasons I could buy it was that the cost of the disk ($150) could be used toward any of the final products or something like that. While that was something special that was specifically for that I think we might do something, maybe not as good as that, but something for "crossgrading" from a regular purchase of Studio ProFiles Special Edition to say one of the Multitrack titls or something.

Actually, I remember it saying that on the web site (esoundz) when I bought it. I have no way of proving it and there's the possibility I'm even wrong, as it was a while ago, but I remember reading that as I wouldn't have bought a "sample" disk for $150. Even one of the reviews on esoundz makes reference to the price being applicable to the final product (of course this may be where I read it, though I think it was more than just reading it in a review). Oh well.

It must have been the text from the group buy perhaps. I just read the page to see if there was anything about that but I didn't see anything. Anyway, it is a FULL DVD of material so it is hardly a "sample disc" comparable to any other. The value of it shouldn't be in question. However, part of its nature IS to also give a taste of each artist and style so you could be tempted to buy them. So, like I said, I am sure there is something we can do for a crossgrade discount. It depends on what you buy. The more you buy the more discount you can get. Remember though that the artists have to get paid so we can't just give away without limit. That group buy, as all group buys tend to be, are a special opportunity and that's why we do them. Consolidated offers within a window of time and the volume of business at once affords us the room to make special arrangements with whoever we're working with as well.jeffb01 wrote:Actually, I remember it saying that on the web site (esoundz) when I bought it. Anyway, if there's something you want then just email sales and see what can be done. They're pretty fair. If it is something reasonable you're asking. I know that they'll do more than what most companies would. We have the highest standards on this I think. Also, the CEO even posts back to you on the subject on Saturday. That's not the norm.

Very surprising to read this.
I too purchased the sample disk under the pretense that the full value would be applied to the actual product to be released in the future. I did not purchase under a group buy. The ezsounds website clearly stated the offer and should have it on record. I have been patiently waiting since I made this purchase last spring for both the studio profiles release and the ocean way drums, both of which I heard previewed at last years Namm show.
While I understand that products can take considerably longer than initially expected, I do not expect to hear that an original promotion offer has been forgotten during this time period. Nor do I expect a rationalization of a new perspective.
Perhaps you could have someone in your organization research this issue a bit further.

The promo offer of using it as credit for another SP title was one of the reasons for joining the group buy. I am not sure we offered it for any extended period of time after the group buy though. It's not a current promotion on the order page: http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=1341
But, we want to make you happy so I am sure we can come up with a reasonable solution dealing with customers one on one. So contact sales or Allen the sales manager directly (allen at esoundz dot com) and tell him what you want to get. I will say that the higher price the thing you want to get the easier it will be to get some credit or discount applied. More room to work with. That was the original idea of letting people apply their $79 credit toward a higher priced $100-400 individual title.
But, anyway, sorry for the confusion. What we'll do next time so there is no confusion is put the promo offer IN the receipt you get. This way you can always show your receipt instead of questioning what was said on a web page that can change. I can only tell you that this confusion wasn't intentional and we'll do our best to make you happy anyway.

I also bought the special edition when it was released. Since then i was waiting (something like a year or so) for the regular studio profiles would come out. a couple of days ago, i ahve sent your spport people an email in regards to this subject, but have not received any answer so far.
I'm sure, you guys are super busy with preparations for the NAMM show, so that's alright. I only hope that you will keep your promise in the end and grant us our credit as promised a long time ago. On another occasion here at KVR, you promised the buyers of the special edition some enhance pack if i remember correctly. I never received anything like that either.
Squids, you seem to be an honest and nice kind of guy, and your products are very appealing, that's why - apart from all that IKM stuff - i also bought your RAW Gold Edition + look forward to invest into the OCEAN WAYS DRUMS (as soon as you figured out your german distributor) and several Studio ProFiles. Looking forward to working with you in 2008 !

The "enhanced pack" was the update that we did to Studio ProFiles. That's the CURRENT one that we sell. If you were in the Group Buy and didn't get the new version which WAS promised for free... then, all you have to do is ask!
It's too big for download though so it is best to ask that it is put into the package when ordering something else (like Ocean Way Drums which is now shipping and there is no German distributor, just us right now). Otherwise you can pay for just the shipping but we'll be happy to give you the updated SP SE that we did. Most people in the GB that wanted it have already gotten that a long time ago.
Also, the applying of the $79 credit is something that many people from the GB have already taken advantage of as well and since we were late on the Studio Profile titles we offered the chance to apply the credit on RAW series as well (in fact, a lot of the RAW titles were originally supposed to be in the Studio ProFile series in the first place).
As far as hearing back, we are short staffed back at the office because we're here at NAMM. But, Allen IS still there and should be able to get back to you no problem. He can apply the credit for you if you haven't applied it to anything yet. This is for anyone who joined the GB for Studio ProFiles Special Edition. For OTHERS that bought Special Edition outside of the group buy you can just try to just ask for a discount on something else you're buying like Ocean Way Drums or other Studio ProFiles products.
