oh man, i so wanted that amp

it was all sorted out, it was even in canada so easy shipping and no customs..

anyway the next day, the guy phones me. hehe, SUPER apologetic.

Anyway, turns out, as he was grabbing the amp to box it up - his teenage son FREAKS OUT.

The guy told me that he TOTALLY underestimated how attached his son was to this amp. Apparently his kid and all his kid's buddies are always hanging out playing guitars in his basement, and there's a few different amps and guitars for them to rock out on. Anyway, seems the kid - and ALL his buddies - are just totally in love with the MM - friends are all super jealous and they all think it's the super secret weapon. Kid offered to pay dad whatever price he was getting for the amp just to keep it.

So the guy had to (very gracefully) decline. I was disappointed, but no hard feelings - he pulled out for all the right reasons.

thanks!

it ultimately IS a good thing that the guy passed up on selling me the MM amp though, it was fate. That act forced me to keep looking for the 'right' amp, which eventually led me to the Swart. It was one of those situations where I knew exactly what I was after, but didn't know what amp would deliver it - but I felt I would know when I heard it. Anyway, the MM was about 3 months ago, and I got to play a Swart a few weeks later, and THIS WAS IT. It was like that amp was custom built to be exactly EXACTLY all the things I was after. I hadn't even heard of them before, and out of the blue, the perfect amp for me arrives. So it was good that I didn't buy the Musicman, and got to keep looking.

Also, I waited about 3 months after 'making up my mind' on the Swart, and spent that time continuing to look for a better amp, and to sit on my decision, make sure it was the right one.

it was the right one for sure. i was so happy to finally order that puppy yesterday :hyper:

20w????

 I don't get out of bed for less than 100w :hihi:

/jk, mmkay?

i have absolutely no use whatsoever for a 100w tube amp

i'm just not one of those guys who plays stadiums

actually 5 watts is plenty, the reason for this is to get the distortion from the power amp tubes. It makes little to no sense to push a 100 watt amp that loud for recording. My 15 watt fender bluesjr is way too loud for recording in my apartment without a dead box or perhaps a powersoak.

I have a million sites for Tube amps, but that's a new one on me... Nice specs though, and my kind of amp! :) speaking of, here's my "tube amp"...
