Cool, I'm giving it a shot before it goes up to $29. Although I don't actually have anything that plays .rex files, besides recycle that is.

Actually the now free shortcircuit

http://www.vemberaudio.se/shortcircuit.php plays REcycle files.

I was playing around with it earlier today and it came to my attention that the associated midi files with these breaks would come in handy with samplers like Shortcircuit.

I'm going to update it to version 2.5 and include both the associated midi file as well as a soundfont version.

That would make it pretty useful in a wide range of apps. I think an app like wusik (I think Wusik can open SF's) or any app that can import a soundfont would be cool.

So in apps like shortcurcuit you could load either the wav, the REX2 file or the soundfont. With the REcycle file and the soundfont you could use the midi file that comes along with it to trigger the sounds in your DAW.

depending on your app this could really open up the breakbeat possibilities.

Since I would like to create a demo so people can download and try I might extend the intro offer a week to give me some time to do this, but I'm not sure about that yet.

For now you can still get in on the intro offer for sure and of course everyone will get the free update to version 2.5

I would also like to thank all the people who commented in this thread regarding the quality of the playing, recording, and mixing. Aaron Perl (the drummer), and Dave Brown (the engineer) are both top shelf guys and this product shows it.

I uploaded a new snakpak with the 24 bit waves and recycle files.

There are a few free loops in the snakpak that you can download and use for free. If you like the snakpak, you'll like the full loop pack.

grab it here

At $10, the demo shouldn't even be an issue. Give up a cheese sandwich and a Coke for one meal and use the money to get these loops. You won't be sorry.

This 'Funky Ass Drum Loops' collection is just overflowing with top content. I have just gone through most of these and here's a very short review:

1. very useful real world patterns. Folder 100 - Bouncy 1 - instant retro hip hop
2. some very creative loops. Folder - 102 Crack the case 1
3. enough drum kit/playing style variety.
4. break-downs, like hi hat loops.
5. pristine recording quality.
6. I like the compression on some loops. eg, folder 72 DP-1001 1. Very nice.
7. IT IS Funky ! folder 102 - ohh LA2, foler 106 - GTron1, folder 98 - ghost1, 100 press play1 , thers's soo many. 118 dr aid.

and I will forgive the fact that folder 122 is empty lol

I have some other drum libraries and jamstix, but this will be my 'go to'
hip-hop funkedelika drum loop set. My Ass has been trully funked. ouch.
Many thanks DW !

Wow!

Thank you very much for the review Himalaya :D

You've made my day!

There is no denying the funk abilities of Aaron Pearl on the drums, and the Spinner Studio's are second to none.

I wanted to let everyone know..

Since I've committed to adding the midi files and soundfont format to the pak for free, I've decided to extend the intro offer for one more week.

That makes it 10 Dollars until Dec 10th.

I'll try to get a new demo up as well.

All existing customers will get an email when the update is complete.

Thanks,

dw

Give yourself a bunch of funky breaks for Christmas!

Still loving these beats... and having Rex versions make it so easy to mess with them!

Thanks DW!

Any plans for other products?

yes we do have some new products in creation :D

I also have the next free update for the Funky Ass Loops done, I just need to upload them.

This update makes the loops available in SoundFont form and also includes the midi files to play these loops in a DAW. So now, even if you don't have an app that accepts recycle files, or your app doesn't read the midi data in the recycle file, you can still have fun with these loops.

The update will also fix a mistake found in one of the edits.

I'll try and create video to better describe what I'm talking about.

Anyway, expect the update soon. I'll send off an email and also post here.

Later,
