I am looking For a Free Hammered Dulcimer Soundfont.
Anyone know where to find one?

I found a couple online for really cheap.
Anyone know of any free ones before I buy?

I don't know of any free ones, but I know a superb soundfonts collection of old instruments called "early patches". Just lovely, I own it since years like the "banchetto musicale" from the same people. If you want to look at this CD-R with the dulcimer, look HERE.
Not free, but excellent.
I gave my girlfriend a real dulcimer as a gift after she finished university, but my sampling-possibilities would be more than lousy. Additionally the attic beside our flat burned these days, so we are kind of lost here, and even if I would make you a free soundfont of it for you, it would take ages... At least the dulcimer didn't burn

Did a search on my comp for "dulcimer" and found a sample set from Computer Music Issue #63 from 2003 or 2004 - wav samples and some '.404' files, meaning Computer Music's free sampler DS-404 ... so if there's some way of getting back issues you could chase that up ..

I have a ton of those somewhere.. I used to spend $15.00 a magazine for those things. I threw a bunch out though too..
