Nice and cool instruments AND demos.


Just an idea but,

I dont use SC and as I own Halion 3 and Battery 3, I won't probably use another sampler.

So the question is : Why limit yopurself to a single format ? I think your soundset could be of interest for other sampler formats as well (Like Halion or K2 or ST 2 wich I own too but has not even used once - Shame on me)

Thank you for the nice words and compliments! I limited the library to Shortcircuit format because of conversion problems. A lot of the character you hear from the sounds arises from special built in effects, use of filters, and modulations of all those parameters that are available exclusively to only Shortcircuit. I cannot faithfully reproduce all the sounds in other formats. If you convert to other formats, all you would get would be basic waveforms looped and mapped to keys, and they would sound bland (without any programming).

I suppose if i had Kontakt, I could program everything manually and recreate the sounds since Kontakt is the sampler thats closest to Shortcircuit in terms of effects and filters and modulation options, but I don't have kontakt. I have Gigastudio and its nowhere near Shortcircuit.

There's never a thing as having too many samplers. So perhaps you could give Shortcircuit 1 a try?

Im emulating some effects, like sustained notes, legato, vibrato ,etc. Actually it takes a lot of time but the results are worth it, I actually made a cheap soundfont trumpet to sound quite well with blended notes inbetween, a bit better legato using porta, and the modulation matrix for filtering pitch and annoying sounds. now if only I had good samples...

But SC is a beast definitely, extremely versatile.

Don't have to apologize. That mp3 sounds darn good. How about this - there's a thread dedicated to showing off SC tricks and techniques like this- do you think you could move this post there (along with some explanation if you want)??

Yes I understand the conversion problem : Very good explanation.

Quality as well as character of filters is obviously very important. That's why where all the conversion tools can be handy but show their (structural, no offense in that) limites. As import features of the samplers.

Well Halion has very good filters also imho.

As for adding another sampler, I dont know, beside of Battery and Halion , I also own Direct Wave as standard sampler, and have a real hassle to maintain all libs on my different computers.

I wouldn't like to find myself in the situation where I spend more time managing my Vstis than actually making music. So I'm trying to keep only Vstis I really use and not adding too much stuff.
