I need hardware to play a live show.

Hello, I am new to live preformances. I am an electronic artist with a low budget & all I could afford was FruityLoops & free VSTs until reciantly. I am looking to get some hardware to I can do live shows now. I am curious how I can do this. I glanced at receptor, I'm not exactly sure what it does. I was wondering of there was something that I could put my vst's on & use the vsts in live instruments? I had 1 idea where I run I line into the pc & see if FLS will detect the live audio from a 1/4 inch cord, mod it with a vst & send back out to an amp in real time? I am from the chicago area & other electronic artists are really hard to find & the ones I do find are imposible to get a hold of/talk to because they are already popular & stuff. check out my stuff at these links & let my know what I could use for actual hardware. I know that I ofcourse will need a good keyboard.

Add a Yamaha MM6 to the laptop, lots of options, download and read the manual, then watch the youtube demos, make an informed choice! Google the above...

laptop & Ableton Live? I know it's sounds obvious for most of the people here, but there is a good reason for this... still ultra flexible and liberating for live use, especially with a midi controller. check Ableton live as soon as you can, that software is designed to do what you want. Now for the hardware, well, laptop and midi controller...
