Love ya Squids, but in the future, please refrain from using the following words or phrases when talking about upcoming products:
"soon"
"almost ready"
"not long now"
"nearly complete"

The following are okay:
"release date is firm on xx/xx/xxxx"
"now shipping"

Of course it's got to be a good feeling knowing that so many of us are so eager to get our hands on this stuff!

Okay okay... but isn't long now and it is nearly complete and ALMOST ready so it WILL be shipping soon.

A few changes have been made regarding this and other Sonik Instruments in the pipe line. But, it's mostly good news and the Tron stuff is going to be released not long after NAMM.

Can't help but notice no mention of SampleTron or StudioPhonik at NAMM (at least in the NAMM news I've found.)

Is there anything you can share regarding the changes you mention above? Inquiring geeks want to know

I did notice you mentioned a possibility of a Tron type GB...you KNOW I'm up for that

so whats up with this... sweetwater ad for sampletron states there is an unusually long shipping delay ...whats up with that...also is this delay and no news about sampletron at namm 08 due to the fact that m-audio is releasing mtron pro ? will there be optigan sounds in the sampletron ? how long is this product delay going to be exactly ?

A surprising few bits of Tron action at Winter NAMM, except from who we've been expecting it from!

Sonic State has a video demo of M-Tron Pro from NAMM. It's got more controls than before (reverse tape, half speed), effects, and now Optigan and Birotron sounds. Also, MOTU introduced Electric Keys, a 40GB sample library of electric pianos, organs, Mellotrons, etc. No info on either company's website yet. Also, Clavia has licensed the Mellotron tape library to use in the Nord Wave. For some strange reason, Clavia hasn't yet made the Chamberlin tape library available yet, even though those tapes were included in the license.

ya really the sweetwater site says iis shipping from ik and should arrive the week of 2/17 why isnt there any news of the sampletron on the ik site and no news at namm wtf ? is this vapor ware

Well, it's mostly based on the Squids Tron Collection Vol. 1 and 2 so it isn't vaporware. A lot of people already have half of it and can testify to the quality.

It IS done sound-wise and awesome (yes it has Optigan in there). But I am wrapping up the final touches amidst post NAMM hell. Sorry for the delay! We also had Ocean Way Drums and SPK to wrap up as well.

I will testify to the quality of Version 1 - it's STILL fantastic - and somehow different from GMedia's awesome MTron (I have both and intend to UPGRADE both with their newest versions) - really, somehow the two sound different but are both great.

They don't overlap that much at all

SquidTron V. 1 has a ton of wild and dirty noisy stuff that I also love - a wide variety of crazy stuff.

I've been waiting on this very thread since November 2005 for SquidTron V2 - I am excited!!

I KNOW that squids stuff will include crazy out there things if SquidTron version one and the teases in this thread are any clue

The unique sounds included in version one are really special . . .

Is two years + too long for a software thread hahahaha jk
